NotebookLM is a general-purpose research tool made by Google — not built specifically for law students like Lexplug or Quimbee. But here's what it offers:
Upload Your Own Sources NotebookLM is built around your own documents — you upload PDFs, Word docs, Google Docs, and more, and the AI answers questions and generates summaries strictly based on what you uploaded. For law students, this means you could upload case readings, ...
Audio Overviews (Podcast-Style) A standout feature converts your uploaded documents into a dynamic, podcast-style dialogue between two AI hosts — one explaining, one questioning — making dense material much easier to absorb passively. Audio Overviews now also include Brief, Critiqu...
Study Aids from Your Documents NotebookLM can instantly generate flashcards, quizzes, and a Learning Guide directly from your uploaded materials, turning your own notes or readings into active study tools.
Deep Research A more recent feature lets it act as an autonomous research agent — you give it a topic, it creates a research plan, searches hundreds of quality sources, and compiles a citation-backed report.
Mind Maps & Sharing It can automatically create a visual, interactive mind map from your sources, and notebooks can be shared publicly via a single link so others can explore and ask questions without editing.
