We’ve been homeschooling for the last 4 years and have gone through TONSSSS of curriculums. The biggest thing to remember is that all kids learn differently and sometimes we gotta meet them where they’re at. Hopefully some of these recs work well for...

I wish I was as relaxed about homeschooling back then as I am now. Focus on fun, getting to know your child’s learning style, and take pressure off yourself. They’ll learn the important stuff eventually ❤️
Math is truly unique to every child. This might not work for yours like it does for others and that’s okay. Pro Tip: TGATB lets your print curriculum for free so I’d try theirs out before jumping into anything else.
Math K: Course Set
Handwriting is a must. Any handwriting curriculum will do so just go with whatever you can easily get your hands on.
Handwriting Workbook: Level 1
Don’t over complicate science when they’re this little. These books are bite sized lessons and are fun for any age group.
The Julia Rothman Collection: Farm, Nature & Food Anatomy
Great way to start out the fight of handwriting practice 😏
Handwriting Workbook: Doodles and Pre-Writing for Littles Part 1
This is another great Language Arts option that uses Orton-Gillingham methods. Goes really in depth about the “why” to the English language which is really helpful. Heck, I even learned some things when we were using it.
Foundations A
Anything kindergarten curriculum related is a hit or miss. Not a lot of kinders are interested in constructing and writing a well put together sentence but if you happen to have a unicorn of a child, this is a great way to introduce writing skills.

I would skip literally every single Language Arts curriculum and just do this manual from start to finish. The manual doesn’t have to be done all in the same school year either. Check out Alana’s IG page and thank me later.

Same rules apply from kinder honestly. They’re still so little and it’ll take some time to find your teaching groove from my experience.

I’ll always tell people to try their math first since you can print it at home for free. If it doesn’t work then definitely try out a different company but if it’s free then it’s for me.

We use PragerU Kids for quick social studies lessons. They’re fun, simple, and have amazing values scattered throughout.
PragerU Kids
It’s a pricey curriculum but it includes literally EVERYTHING you’d need for the whole year including all the supplies you’d need for the experiments. If you have kids who are hands on learners then they’d really enjoy this science curriculum.
Science A Package
These books are a gentle way to encourage building some writing skills with no pressure.

2nd Grade 🎨
2nd is when I started pushing harder and asking more from my daughter. Routines are usually pretty set at this stage and learning honestly gets more enjoyable. My favorite grade hands down so far.

This along with the Who Was? books are a fun way to learn about influential people. The show though is hilarious and I wish they made more seasons.

My daughter will be in 3rd this new school year so I don’t have any words of advice yet. I have goals for us and our curriculum choices are picked specifically based off my child’s needs and what I know she’ll enjoy.
