Before I figured out the right tools, I was standing at the counter tearing chicken apart with two forks like some kind of cave person. These made the whole Monday prep take about eight minutes flat.

Monday is the easiest night because the chicken is fresh and everyone is still optimistic about the week. Tacos take about 12 minutes from fridge to table and nobody complains.

Tuesday is when I clean out whatever vegetables are about to go bad. Fried rice is basically a delicious refrigerator audit, and cold leftover rice from the weekend works even better than fresh.

By Wednesday the week is dragging and something warm feels necessary. This soup takes about 25 minutes because the chicken is already cooked. My slow cooker does most of the work while I help with homework.

Thursday is the grand finale and honestly the meal everyone looks forward to most. The last portion of chicken gets rolled into tortillas with sauce and cheese. Takes maybe 30 minutes including bake time.

Buying one chicken and making it taste four completely different ways comes down to seasoning. These are the bottles I reach for constantly and replace almost monthly because they actually get used.

These are the background players that make each dinner actually work. None of them are exciting on their own but without them every meal tastes like plain chicken on a plate, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid.
