Items to make your time at university comfortable and homey.
My topper has made my bed so comfy over the last 3 years. In student accommodation the mattresses aren’t the best and you can often feel the springs but with this you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. I also use it as a base when car camping!

Many student accommodations come with pinboards made of cork or covered in an ugly covered felt, to upgrade the aesthetics cover the board in a cheap wallpaper (with pins). Choose a wallpaper that fits your aesthetic!

Take an extension!! Sometimes your room might only have a few sockets so this will be very valuable when you want to plug in multiple things. E.g phone, laptop, lamp, fan, air freshener
Extension Lead with USB Ports
Student accommodation gets so hot! There are hundreds of people in one building, all cooking their own meals, using their own electrics etc. The windows also barely open to its helpful to get air circulating.
Desktop fan
Living in a confined space with other people can get a bit smelly, cooking smells etc. These plug ins are the best and strongest air fresheners with many different scents. You can adjust it from low to high depending on how strong you want the scent.

Storage space is very limited and even though you shouldn’t bring all of your clothes with you, you might end up with more than you need. This can also help store towels and bedding.

Kitchen
You can probably survive with one kitchen knife if need be but preferably you want one for meat and one for vegetables while you’re cooking. This set is cheap and will get the job done.
Kung Fu Carrot - Home & Kitchen
It is so important to keep good food hygiene! You will get sick enough without food contamination. You have a red board for raw meat, yellow for cooked meat, blue for fish and green for vegetables. Don’t get food poisoning!
Pack Of Four Colour Coded Flex Chopping Mats
If you’re new to cooking I would recommend buying a vegetable peeler for peeling carrots, potatoes etc. If you’re new to cooking you’re less likely to hurt yourself with this.

Sometimes you might not have time to cook every night but don’t want to live off noodles or you want to take lunch with you as buying meal deals every day can get quite expensive. Buy some sealable tubs to meal prep.
If you have your own bathroom these are great! If you have your bottles etc on the shower floor your hair, soap and conditioner gets stuck under the bottles making them gunky. These stuck really well and helped keep my shower organised and clean.
Shower Caddy 2 Pack Adhesive Bathroom Shelves
If you share a bathroom you definitely want to keep your toiletries in your room otherwise you risk your flatmates using everything you have. This caddy lets you store everything in the bag and unzip to hang on the door so you can transport everythin...
Hanging Toiletry Bag
These are essential if you have long hair, the shower drains block pretty easily and you can be waiting days before maintenance can fix it leaving you standing in shower water. This catches the hair before going down your drain!
