Parks, playgrounds, trails, splash pads.
Mackay park playground, off William Street, is recently renovated. While there isn't much shade, every element of the playground is play-able and it's rubber ground which is ideal for running around.
Mackay Park
The arboretum is nice to walk through. Trails are easy and kid-friendly (not stroller friendly) and there is a shaded playground right next to the entrance.
Thielke Arboretum
Overpeck is a massive park. You can kayak, go on the playground, walk around by the water, and they host a slew of events here throughout the year.
Overpeck County Park
The playground here is massive (recommend going with both parents if you have young ones). It's designed for various different ages and also has a splash pad.
Van Saun County Park
The zoo is really affordable and easy to walk through with kids. There is also a carousel across the way as well as the playground.
Bergen County Zoo
There are beautiful views, free parking and a huge splash pad that's basically integrated between two playgrounds. Great for all ages.
Veteran's Memorial Park Edgewater Florida
Lots of very easy kid-friendly trails as well as a playground. Easy parking and usually quiet!
Flat Rock Brook Nature Center
Restaurants
The food here is always delicious. The space inside is small but kid-friendly, and easy to order takeout from.
Thai Shack
Such delicious ice cream and they have really unique flavors.
Cranberry Junction Homemade Ice Cream
Arts & Entertainment
One of the very few theaters that still sells tickets under $10 every once in a while. Has a snack selection as well.
Teaneck Cinemas
The biggest children's area with a wide selection of books, coloring tables, book nooks, and lots of great toys.
Ramsey Library
Local Favorites
The best selection - fresh veggies, bakery items, sauces, and more. W wide space that makes it easy for kids to roam around.
