Books That Will Make You Ugly Cry
Seriously! You will cry and you won’t even see it coming!
Great story!
As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh, Paperback
Trust me, you’re going to want the paperback version so you can throw it across the room when you get mad. But it’s great!
A Man Called Ove|Paperback
If a Fredrick Blackman novel does one thing…it’s goons be ripping your heart out.
Britt-Marie Was Here: A Novel
The cover is what drew me in. The story starts out slow, but it keeps you interested the entire time. Prepare for your heart to break!
Gilded Mountain: A Novel|Hardcover
The Mystery Section
I’m only adding books here that I haven’t been able to solve the mystery to!
Who stole the violin?! I know! Because I read this giant book in less than 2 days! It’s so good and keeps you wanting to read just a little more and a little more.
The Violin Conspiracy (Good Morning America Book Club)|Hardcover
This is one of those books that jump between the past and future. It’s not the best book I’ve ever read, but it’s still one of my favorite stories because of the characters.
The Lost Apothecary: Historical Mystery by Sarah Penner
The coziest murder mystery I’ve ever read! If you are a fan of The Great British Baking Show, you will absolutely love this book!
The Golden Spoon: A Novel
Cozy Reads
Some of my most enjoyable reads!
The writing style is so gentle and warm you just want to lay outside in a hammock while reading. A great coming of age story!
The Last True Poets of the Sea
Books About Real People
Why is real life heartbreaking?
This book is a great example of how war affects everyone. You will cry, mourn, flinch, and sigh all the way through it.
The Girl Who Smiled Beads: War & After
A heart breaking novel about how cruel people can be in any circumstance.
The Night Ship: A Novel
My sister and I listened to this book on a road trip last year. It was so sad and depressing we had to keep taking breaks. But it was also funny at parts and ended on a hopeful note!
Angela's Ashes: A Memoir
Christmas Books 🎄
I try to read as many Christmas books as possible between thanksgiving and Christmas!
Short and concise…yet, beautiful.
Small Things Like These (Oprah's Book Club)
Historical Fiction
My favorite genre!
The cover is what drew me in. The story starts out slow, but it keeps you interested the entire time. Prepare for your heart to break!
Gilded Mountain: A Novel|Hardcover
The “origin” story of Nathanial Hawthorn and his inspiration for The Scarlet Letter…although this book isn’t really about him…
Hester
Did you know there are people with blue skin? I didn’t either! But apparently it’s true! This is great book based that takes place in the impoverished hills of risk Kentucky.
