I rode my bicycle across the country - yes, across the USA. Pearl Izumi shorts were my go-to. Non chafing, long-lasting comfort, and sweat wicking. Yes, they are on the more expensive side but I noticed a huge difference in quality compared to some o...

Do not sleep on chamois cream if you are going on long rides! I would put it on in the morning before I headed out. It kept me moving without discomfort on long days.

I know I know, a lot of Pearl Izumi, but there is a reason they are a leader in the industry! They are lightweight and comfortable. Not too tight and feel breezy. I tried a couple of other brands (which I will list), but in my opinion, Pearl Izumi ta...

Great price and solid quality. As mentioned, I used a couple of different brands on my bike ride. I had a neon Baleaf jacket for rainy days. Neon and high-visibility, I was not worried I wasn't going to be seen. Four years later, I still wear the jac...

I ended up wearing triathlon shoes for the bike ride… not great on a rainy day, BUT I have since done a couple of triathlons and have worn the shoes. I still wear them for just regular cycling too. They are comfortable, easy to remove to slip into te...

I did a lot of research before purchasing sunglasses last. I wanted some that would do well for training for a triathlon. Tifosi kept coming up for performance plus value. I've had mine for about a year and am really happy with them. I use for runnin...

My bike computer and map saved me from getting lost on more than one occasion. My phone was often packed away, and the Garmin map guided me to the next stop!

I did not get a flat once when I switched to Armadillos and had tube liners in my tires. I HATE changing tires, and I ended up only have to change 3 tires the entire bike ride (lowest in the group)!

I had two flats right in a row, and so I decided to get these liners. They were a life saver for the last half of the trip - and never had a flat on them!!

Love my Polar Bottles on the ride! They help keep my drinks cool even on long, hot days. They fit easily into my water bottle holders. My dad introduced me to the brand, and these are his preferred, as well!

Okay, not to gush but I absolutely love my Roubaix. I had an old Cannondale that I knew I needed to replace before the ride, and it has been one of the best purchases I made in my 20's. It's lightweight, smooth ride - most importantly, SO COMFORTABLE...

I absolutely love my bike rack. We ended up getting a 2-bike one because my husband started to get into riding, as well. I've used it on 5+ hour road trips, and the bikes did great. Easy to use and folds in when not using to take up minimal space.

Both I and my friend have Giro helmets. Very comfortable. My hair does not get stuck which is not what I have experienced with other helmets. You can also buy one for a bit more with the Mips helmet technology added protection.

Always take a pocket/portable pump with you - you never know when you might get a flat. I always recommend co2 cartridges, as well.
