It was a little overwhelming trying to pick out the best machine since there are so many options. Here are the top few I was considering!
I ended up going with the SE700, I figured I didn't want to invest too much into a machine as a beginner. A lot of people have had great reviews for this model as a single-needle machine.
Brother SE700 Sewing and Embroidery Machine
This basically the same as the SE700, except it has a larger embroidery area, 5" x 7" vs 4" x 4"
Brother PE900 Embroidery Machine
This was another great option! I just felt like there wasn't as much information or reviews online for Poolin machines, so I ended up going with a Brother machine for that reason.

Surprisingly thread is not as expensive as I would have thought, and will last throughout many projects!
I wanted to get a set of matte threads. Compatible with almost all machines!

Essential to machine embroidery! I prefer the pre-cut sheets.
Tear away has been my favorite stabilizer! Perfect for napkins, towels, bags, etc. Not the best for clothing items that will be washed frequently. I love that these are pre-cut sheets as well.

Cut away is your sturdier option, so its best for clothes to prevent the threads from falling out due to regular wear and tear.
Brothread Cut Away Machine Embroidery Stabilizer
Mesh stabilizers are great for clothing items that are thinner. You won't be able to see the mesh as much as you will see the cut away stabilizer.

Your machine will likely come with a few needles, so its good to have come extra on hand! These come in different sizes so you can use for thinner or thicker fabrics.
Sewing Machine Needles, 100 PCS
I saw someone recommended to buy curved scissors and I 100% agree. It makes it so much easier to snip your thread without being at an awkward angle.
Bent Handle Curved Embroidery Scissors
You 100% need this adhesive spray! It's to “float” your blanks, so you don't need to pin anything down. A true lifesaver.
505 Spray and Fix Temporary Fabric Adhesive
Self-explanatory! But to help with marking your fabric.
Mr. Pen- Washable Fabric Markers
I know there are multiple uses for foam in embroidery, but I use this foam for bag tags!

HIGHLY recommend buying this set. It includes a second 4X4 hoop which is so helpful when you're working on multiple projects. It also includes a larger re-positional hoop!
