I've lived in Nashville on and off for over 10 years and have seen the city change a lot! Here's my tried and true that aren't the typical Instagram restaurants but the food will make you begging to go back again!

Best Pad Thai in Nashville! They don't do reservations, so get there right at opening. A cute quaint little house.
The Smiling Elephant
This is the place I take my out of town friends and they request to go back everytime. The Etoufee is to die for, and you must get the beignets – they come out HOT! Alligator bites are also an honorable mention!
The Gumbo Bros
Amazing happy hour – only served at the bar so get there early! I love their crispy rice and the k-pop chicken. They also serve adult capri-suns!
Kore Nashville
A restaurant where you can get burgers, and mexican. My menu favorite is the original crunchwrap!!
Redheaded Stranger Tacos
A neighborhood spot with the vast menu and mid-scale vibes. My favorites are their garlic edamame, the spicy tuna handroll, the crunchy shrimp handroll, and the pad tai.
Aroi by Smiley Thai
An AMAZING handroll spot. Not a bad thing on the menu! Sit at the bar and the food comes quick. In an open air market.
Hattori Nori
PACKED sandwiches - some are unique, they may even have chips in them! They have a weekly special with a new sandwich on the menu every week so sign up for their emails.
Fatbelly Pretzel Bakery & Deli
My favorite indian place in Nashville. Have never sat inside but is a frequent order on my Doordash! I get the butter chicken or chicken tikka masala with the garlic bread
Hyderabad House Nashville
Featured in the NYT best restaurants in America! Can't go wrong here with anything on the menu and the portions are huge!
Edessa Restaurant
Multiple locations across town. My favorite pizza in Nashvillle is the honey, pepporoni, and ricotta pizza!
Tailgate Brewery
Best Acai in town. Great amount for the cost. I get the Fleetwood bowl with almond butter. The cashews in acai – unreal!
Wild Berry Acai
The colllard green melt will blow your mind. You're like a collard green.. melt?? huh? and it is out of this world

I'd honestly want to gatekeep this place! A speakeasy bar in downtown that has magicians and they are some of the best in the world. An unreal experience!
HOC Nashville
If you like improv – the shows aren't too long, has a great bar, and they interact with the crowd (but never in an embarassing way!)
