Pokhara – Nepal: Nature, Temples & Places

Purple Star emoji 12 items
I spent 6 days in Pokhara. I think 6 days is too much for this place; 3 days would be enough, but it's such a peaceful place that I stayed an extra 3 days. Here are the places I visited.

Nature & Temples

Although not as many as in Kathmandu, you can still see temples here. I'd say I saw more Hindus than Buddhists in Pokhara. I think it's a more important place for them.

I did my runs around this lake. It's especially beautiful in the evenings and extremely peaceful in the mornings.

A temple in the middle of the lake. You get there by boat from the shore. We were so close to the water that I was afraid of falling in :)

I decided to walk there, and believe it or not, I walked 15km. But I met a Chinese girl on the way, and it made the walk worthwhile ;)

Chinese girl at the World Peace Pagoda and I watched a very romantic sunrise here. It was very foggy, but still, we managed to see a little bit of the sun.

Walking peacefully by the lake is a slow, mind-clearing activity. Highly recommended.

Shopping & Local Bazaar Spots

You can also do some shopping along the paths leading to the temples. There are wonderful souvenirs; I bought some there. But you should definitely see these shopping locations as well.

The prices are extremely reasonable, but I didn't buy from here because I shopped elsewhere. Also the lively local produce stalls offer a glimpse into the daily life of Pokhara.

You can find souvenirs, handicrafts, and street food by the lake. I had a snack here every day. There are places with live music in the evenings.

Cafés & Restaurants

I ate the most delicious fruit bowls of my life in Pokhara.

I wouldn't be wrong to say this is the most peaceful cafe in Pokhara. Everything you eat and drink is beyond amazing.
