I measured wrong twice and ended up returning two boards before landing on ones that sit perfectly on a desk without blocking my screen or falling over every time I bump the table.

Regular thumbtacks left holes in every photo I pinned up. I ruined a printed picture from my sister's wedding before I found pins that hold things without punching through them.

Once I had a corkboard behind my monitor, I realized my monitor was too low and the board was blocked. A riser fixed both problems at once and gave me storage underneath.

Having a corkboard is pointless if you never actually print the photos to pin on it. I sat on hundreds of phone photos for years before I started printing a few each month.

My corkboard was basically invisible during evening work sessions until I added a light strip behind my monitor. That one change made everything on the board readable even at midnight.
