My favourite app/website for planning road trips in the USA, Canada and New Zealand. You need a paid subscription to make the most of it, so it's best for frequent roadtrippers rather than just a one-off trip.

Don't get caught out for excess baggage fees at the airport - make sure you know how much your bag weighs before you fill it with souvenirs!

Whatever toiletry bag you buy - make sure it is a hanging one. You may not get much counter space where you are staying, but there will probably be a hook. Better than leaving it on the floor!
