An epistolary WW2 novel that makes you fall in love with its endearing characters. I also loved the historical fiction aspect.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: A Novel
A character driven story about a man who gifts paintings to perfect strangers. The ending caught me totally by surprise!
Theo of Golden - Levi, Allen: Books
Lewis’ explanation of the difference between affection, friendship, Eros, and charity. I love how he explains that loves can turn sour if they try to exist separate from the source of love.
The Four Loves - C. S. Lewis
The heartwarming story of Jo’s boys at Plumfield. Jo, like Marmee before her, is a great example for me as a mother.
Little Men (Little Women, #2) by Louisa May Alcott
This tome will likely take a good portion of the year to get through, I read volume 1 last year. It is a great resource for learning more about church history.
The Story of Christianity, Vol. 2: Reformation to Present
February
The story of a man who sought to disprove Jesus and ended up finding Him instead.
Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: Muslim Meets Christianity
A powerful and rational argument for the Christian faith by the brilliant mind of CS Lewis. I read this maybe 10 year ago, so I am excited to re-read it. Lewis is probably my favorite author.
Mere Christianity: Lewis, C. S.: 9780060652920
I read this book in middle school, but didn’t really remember it, so I re-read it this year. It’s sci-fi meets allegory.
A Wrinkle in Time (Time Quintet Series #1) (Newbery Medal ...
Reading with a group of friends, so this one may take me a little longer to get through!
Twelve Extraordinary Women: How God Shaped
Started this one this month and was immediately drawn in! I have enjoyed most of Dan Brown’s novels and this was no exception. I love how he expertly weaves fact and fiction to create his stories. I was definitely caught by surprise by who the “ba...
The Secret of Secrets: A Novel (Robert Langdon)
I thoroughly enjoy reading books that help enrich my understanding of my theology, and this one has been on my TBR for a long time. It was a pretty short book and overall a great read. I definitely feel like it’s a must read for anyone struggling w...
Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart: Know You're Saved
Just finished Pride and Prejudice for the first time and honestly really enjoyed it! I found myself loving Darcy and disliking Lydia. I also love a beautiful copy!
Pride and Prejudice (Puffin in Bloom)
March
After having read and enjoyed Little Pilgrim’s Progress with my sons, I knew I had to try Lewis’ take! It is almost the opposite- the story of someone who grew up believing and walks away from the faith.
The Pilgrim's Regress by C. S. Lewis & Hague
I am so far enjoying this book. It was one I picked from an Instagram post. I like the premise that sometimes what we SAY we love and what we ACTUALLY love are not always the same, and the importance of ordering and cultivating our desires to match...
You Are What You Love: Spiritual Habit - James K. A. Smith
