Of all the parks in this guide, this one is naturally the closest to my heart.
As an Off-Leash Network host, I designed Pupvacay to be the kind of place I wished existed for my own dogs—a private, fully fenced space where every dog could relax, sniff, explore, and simply enjoy being a dog without the stress of crowded public pa...
One of my favorite things about Pupvacay is that it isn't just a fenced yard.
I wanted to create little opportunities for dogs to use both their bodies and their brains, so you'll find a sensory garden, parkour obstacles, toys, bubbles, mature shade trees, and plenty of space to wander at your dog's own pace.
Over the years, I've especially enjoyed welcoming reactive and timid dogs who may not feel comfortable in public parks.
It's also become a favorite for training sessions, private playdates, puppy confidence building, birthday celebrations, and gotcha day parties.
Every visit is completely private, so you have the entire space to yourselves.
Seeing dogs arrive a little nervous and leave happy, relaxed, and tired is one of my favorite parts of being a host.
I hope you and your dog enjoy Pupvacay as much as I've enjoyed creating it.

📍 Oshawa, Ontario

Why You'll Love It
🐾 Fully private, fully fenced yard
🌳 Mature trees with plenty of shade

This is one of the parks that immediately made me think, “Now this is an adventure.”
If your dog loves exploring the great outdoors, Sugar Bush Acres is the kind of place they may never want to leave.
Nestled in the forests of Northern Ontario near Greater Sudbury, this private off-leash property features more than 4 km of scenic trails where dogs can roam, sniff, and explore at their own pace in a peaceful natural setting.
One of the highlights for me is the beautiful river that winds through the property, giving adventurous pups a chance to cool off with a swim during the warmer months.
In winter, the experience transforms into a snowy playground with groomed trails that are perfect for hiking and dog-powered sports like skijoring and bikejoring.
Whether your dog enjoys long hikes, splashing in the water, or simply following every interesting scent along the trail, Sugar Bush Acres feels like a true Northern Ontario adventure in every season.

This is one of the most unique parks in the Off-Leash Network because it proves that a great dog adventure doesn't depend on the weather.
If you're looking for a private off-leash experience year-round, Middle Kingdom Dog Facility is a wonderful option.
Located on a family-run sheep farm, this fully enclosed, heated indoor facility gives dogs plenty of room to run, play, train, and explore in a safe, private environment.
Professional agility equipment and rubber flooring make it ideal for introducing your dog to agility, practicing training exercises, or simply burning off energy when it's too hot, too cold, rainy, or snowy outside.
As someone who lives in Ontario, I can definitely appreciate having a place where dogs can enjoy off-leash fun no matter what Mother Nature has planned.
It's a fantastic option for active dogs and their people throughout every season.

In the middle of Toronto, I wasn't expecting to find such a peaceful little retreat where both dogs and their people can truly slow down and relax.

One of the things that immediately caught my attention about Harmony Ridge is that it offers the best of both worlds.
You can enjoy a private outdoor play space, and if the weather doesn't cooperate—or you're planning a training session—there's also an indoor sand arena available.
Located between Uxbridge and Port Perry, this welcoming private park features more than half an acre of gently rolling grass where dogs can run, sniff, explore, and simply enjoy being off leash.
One feature I think many dogs will love is the large sand pit, giving them the chance to dig, play, and satisfy those natural instincts that public parks often don't allow.
During the warmer months, natural obstacles and toys add even more opportunities for enrichment and fun.
Whether you're planning a relaxing play session or looking for a convenient place to work on training, Harmony Ridge offers a flexible experience that's a little different from anywhere else in the network.

This is one of the most creative parks I discovered while putting this guide together.
Every time I thought I'd seen all it had to offer, I found another activity that would keep dogs entertained.
From agility and parkour obstacles to scent games in the "Find It" barn, a ball pit, digging area, kiddie pool, and water play,
AARFF is packed with opportunities for dogs to run, jump, sniff, splash, dig, and explore.
It's the kind of place where every visit can feel like a brand-new adventure.
One thing I especially appreciate is AARFF's support for rescue dogs, even offering discounts for foster families who need a private space for assessments or meet-and-greets.
That thoughtful gesture says a lot about the hosts and their genuine love for dogs, making this park feel just as welcoming as it is fun.

One of the things that really impressed me about NBN Dogpark is how much variety it offers.
Between the trails, open fields, streams, spring-fed pond, and dedicated training area, it feels like a place where every visit could be a little different.
With 30 acres of natural space, more than 4.5 km of scenic trails, a fully fenced training area, open fields, fresh water streams, and a spring-fed pond, there's something new to discover around every corner.
Whether your dog enjoys hiking through nature, splashing in the water, practicing training skills, or simply following every interesting scent along the trail, NBN provides plenty of room to explore at your own pace.
One feature I especially like is that the park is open until 11 PM, making it a great choice for cooler evening walks, after-work adventures, or even a peaceful nighttime outing under the stars.
After your adventure, relax together at the covered pavilion while taking in the peaceful surroundings before heading home.

Wilton Valley immediately stood out to me because it's all about freedom.
Unlike many of the other parks in the network, this one isn't focused on fences or equipment—it's about giving dogs with reliable recall the chance to experience wide-open countryside the way nature intended.
Spanning 120 acres of peaceful countryside, this private property features more than 6 kilometers of groomed trails winding through open fields, wooded areas, and beautiful natural landscapes, giving adventurous dogs plenty of room to roam and explor...
One thing I really appreciate is that, although the property is unfenced, it's thoughtfully situated away from busy roads and distractions.
That creates a peaceful environment where well-trained dogs can enjoy the freedom to run, sniff, and explore at their own pace.

One of the things I liked most about Wishing Creek Farm (Site B) is its simplicity.
It doesn't need elaborate play equipment or attractions—it's simply a peaceful place where dogs can run, sniff, explore, and enjoy the countryside at their own pace.
With 8 acres of open space, two grassy play areas, and a seasonal creek, there's plenty of room for dogs to play fetch, stretch their legs, or simply wander through nature.
I especially like the mix of short and long grass, which gives curious noses something new to investigate wherever they go.
During the warmer months, the shallow creek adds another fun stop for adventurous pups who enjoy discovering new sights, sounds, and scents.
Whether you're planning an active play session or a quiet afternoon outdoors, Wishing Creek Farm feels like the kind of place where it's easy to slow down, relax, and simply enjoy spending time together.

One of the things that stood out to me about LK Farm is how much there is to explore.
With open fields, wooded trails, a scenic pond, and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife, it feels like every visit could take you and your dog on a different adventure.
Set on 70 acres of peaceful countryside just south of Ottawa, this private property gives dogs plenty of room to run, sniff, splash, and discover something new around every corner.
The varied landscape makes it a wonderful choice whether you're practicing recall, enjoying a leisurely nature walk, or simply giving an energetic dog lots of space to stretch their legs.

One of the things I immediately liked about TK's Private Pup Playground is that it proves you don't have to leave the city to enjoy a peaceful private adventure with your dog.
Finding a spacious off-leash retreat in Toronto isn't always easy, which makes this park such a wonderful discovery.
This fully fenced half-acre space gives dogs plenty of room to run, zoom, sniff, play, and simply enjoy some off-leash freedom without the crowds of a public dog park.
I especially like that the experience is just as enjoyable for people as it is for their dogs.

This is probably the park that surprised me the most while putting this guide together.
Instead of focusing on outdoor play, the entire experience is designed around something many dogs absolutely love—using their noses to explore, investigate, and solve little challenges at their own pace.
Every visit is thoughtfully customized for your dog.
Hidden treats, snuffle mats, puzzles, ball pits, natural scents, sensory plants, and fascinating objects with unique scent histories encourage dogs to slow down and engage their natural instincts in a calm, stress-free environment.
I found myself thinking what a brilliant idea this was, and even my son said it made him wish we could clear out part of our garage and create something similar at Pupvacay!
That's the kind of reaction this place inspires.
It's an especially wonderful experience for anxious, senior, recovering, or reactive dogs, helping build confidence while allowing them to explore at their own pace.
Rather than simply exercising the body, Praise Dog Enrichment Room offers something completely different—a chance for dogs to exercise their minds.

One of the things I liked about Pannell Barking Lot is that it doesn't try to be anything complicated.
It simply offers a safe, welcoming space where dogs of all sizes can run, play, and enjoy some carefree off-leash time together with their people.
Originally an equestrian riding ring, the fully fenced play area provides plenty of room to chase a ball, practice recall, enjoy a training session, or simply burn off some energy in a secure environment.
I also appreciate the thoughtful extras that make a visit even more enjoyable, including agility equipment, a designated digging area, toys, treats, fresh drinking water, and comfortable seating while your dog explores.

One of the things that appealed to me about Old Yellers is how authentic it feels.
Instead of a traditional dog park, you're exploring a working ranch where dogs and their people can enjoy the simple pleasure of walking through Alberta's beautiful countryside together.
This private property offers approximately 40 acres of open pasture, wooded trails, and natural spaces where dogs can sniff, explore, and enjoy the outdoors at their own pace.
The trail winds through grassy fields, around wooded areas, and past a small pond, creating a relaxing adventure that's just as enjoyable for people as it is for their dogs.
I also like that every walk can be a little different.
Keep an eye out for local wildlife as you explore, soak in the peaceful surroundings, and enjoy the kind of wide-open spaces that make Alberta so special.

One thing I've learned while creating this guide is that every park is different.
Some offer hiking trails, others have ponds for swimming, while others focus on enrichment, agility, peaceful gardens, or simple open space.
You don't need 100 acres to create a memorable experience.
Sometimes a thoughtfully designed backyard is exactly what dogs and their people are looking for.
