This is what I use as a base for the chrome. Use a THIN layer and cure for 40 secs. Do not buff the surface you will paint on; it'll ruin it. I learned this the hard way. After you apply the chrome cure for another 30 secs
FZANEST Black Gel Polish Top Base Coat 15ml
The gold chrome I use. Very easy to work with
Beetles Chrome Nail Powder 8 Colors 1g
To apply the chrome. Not messy and reusable. I just clean it with an alcohol wipe. Ps. do not get a whole lot of chrome on it because when you apply it, it'll look glittery. Just get a thin, nice layer.

My lamp. I like that it has a mirror base, so it gets all the angles. I hold the pen up for a few seconds, and when I know it won't smear, I place it down so I don't have to be holding it the whole time.

I don't care if my brush gets chrome on it for this one. I only put it over the chrome since it's very glossy, and you can see it when it gets on the black part of the cap. Cure 60 secs

To clean the pen beforehand and after filing the edges. Do NOT buff the part of the cap you will paint. I did it, and the polish doesn't cover the texture so it looks super bad
