Foods & Drinks
Although the queue is long, but it's really worth it. They use a vending machine system, and the cheesecake is incredibly creamy, with multiple flavours available.
Artirasa Blok M
Their beers are soooooooooooooo damn good! They're open til late at night, but might be a hassle to go home if you wait until they close since it's inside a mall.
Paulaner Bräuhaus
My go to place if craving Japanese food. The place is soooo chill, the quality is good, but not that expensive.
Sushi Matsu - Menteng
Hands down, the best chicken noodle in the area.
Bakmi Roxy, Cikini
The queue is worth it, the breads are so soft, and the beverages are surprisingly good as well. You can watch them making the bread since it's an open kitchen :)
Little Salt Bread
You need to try this donut! They have many flavours, and it's not too sweet.
Donat Bahagia
They have a few places across Jakarta, but the tastes are consistent. Go here if you want to try Makassar's food.
Warung Ijo
This cafe is inspired by Amsterdam, and offers food from local and Netherlands. I tried most of their menus and they're so good! (PS. Try to ask to be seated upstairs, it's super cozy!)
AMS&DAM
I'm a fan of cold brew, and I do love their cold brew since they have variants for the cold brew. This outlet is my favourite to go since it's my place. You can spend long hours here, since they also offers food (not just pastry/cake).
Djournal Coffee Setiabudi One
One of the best place to get Manado food. Woku is a must!
Restoran Beautika Jakarta
Ah… the famous Pagi Sore. If you want to try Padang food, this is to go to. Try to get the Ayam Pop ;)
Pagi Sore Saharjo
Who doesn't like this comfort food, especially when it's cold outside or when you're sick? They serve it in a clay bowl, be careful because it's hot! The place is quite cramped, and covered with old Chinese pin-ups/posters, but believe me, it's worth...
Claypot Popo
Craving dim sum? Then Haka is the answer! They have multiple choices for you to choose from, with a few outlets but this is my favourite since it's less busier than the one in Blok M.
HAKA Dimsum KEMANG
Craving Chinese food at midnight? Just go to Wing Heng, they open 24 hours. Perfect if you're hungry after a night out ;)
Wingheng Dimsum
This cafe is across the Fatahillah Museum, with elegant, colonial-era room with high ceilings. It's one of the oldest restaurant, and serving award-winning dishes and beverages. Worth the price.
Café Batavia
Places
They have affordable pottery class every weekend, but the slot is limited. My go to place to have a date ;)
Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik
My favourite library in Jakarta, but you need to have a membership to be able to enter the library. But you still can roam around the area (they have great design) or grab a bite in the coffeeshop, and usually they have exhibition, just ask the frien...
Jakarta Library and HB Jassin Literary Document Center| Cikini
If you love history, it's a must visit since the building was the city hall of Batavia. PS. Look out for the prison.
Museum Fatahillah
This museum is beautiful, they have a large Indonesian collection as well.
National Museum of Indonesia
This museum used to be a cemetery since colonial time and then they moved it to the Ereveld. Here you can see all the tombs, and it's so quiet which I love (minus the mosquitoes).
Museum Prasasti
This place which translates to Dutch Field of Honor is one of two Dutch war cemeteries in Jakarta, the other one is in Ancol. It feels calm here, although the location is in the middle of the city.
Ereveld Menteng Pulo
The OG amusement park in Jakarta. Don't forget to wear hat and sunscreen!
Dunia Fantasi
This Aquarium is inside the mall, and they have shows, you just need to check their schedule.
