Friwen Wall is one of my favorite snorkeling spots in Raja Ampat. The water is incredibly clear, the coral walls are colorful, and the marine life feels like swimming inside a natural aquarium. The shallow reef area is beginner friendly, while the de...
I stayed at Papua Explorers Resort, and it made exploring Raja Ampat much easier. Friwen Wall is only around 20 – 25 minutes by speedboat from the resort.
The resort also offers snorkeling and diving trips, overwater bungalows, a restaurant, PADI dive center, kayaking, and beautiful ocean views, making it a perfect base for exploring the islands.
My tips & hacks before visiting Friwen Wall:
Go early in the morning for calmer water, better visibility, beautiful underwater lighting, and fewer visitors.
Ask your guide about the best photo timing and angles because underwater lighting makes a huge difference.
Bring a small dry bag to protect your phone, camera, and important items during boat trips.
Wear a UV shirt/rash guard because the tropical sun in Raja Ampat is very strong.
Use reef safe sunscreen to help protect the coral ecosystem.
Download offline maps before trip because internet access can be limited between islands.
Don’t rush from one spot to another.
Raja Ampat is best enjoyed slowly  take time to appreciate the ocean, nature, and peaceful atmosphere

My tips & hacks before visiting:
Go early in the morning. It’s less crowded, and the morning light makes the ocean colors and photos look much better.
Don’t rush to the viewpoint. Enjoy snorkeling first while the water is calm, then hike up for the panoramic view.
Wear comfortable footwear. The hill can be rocky and hot during the day.
Bring a small dry bag and your own water. Facilities on the island are limited.
Check the weather before going. Sea conditions can make a big difference to your experience.

I stayed at Alami Alor Dive & Snorkel Resort, and it was the perfect base to experience Alor in a relaxed way. The resort offers direct beach access for snorkeling, guided boat trips to explore other marine spots, snorkeling and diving equipment,...
My tips & hacks:
Try snorkeling in the morning and late afternoon. The different light conditions make the coral colors look even more beautiful.
Don’t underestimate the house reef. You don’t always need a boat trip  some of the best underwater moments are right in front of the resort.
Bring an underwater camera. Alor’s water clarity is incredible and perfect for capturing marine life.
Stay a little longer if possible. Alor is a place to slow down and enjoy nature, not just check destinations off a list.
