The administrative and executive capital of South Africa and only a short distance from Jo'burg
Set in an entertainment complex with casino attached, the hotel was well-appointed. Rooms were spacious and clean. Lots of good eating and drinking options both inside the hotel, the casino and nearby.

The currency of SA is the Rand - while you'll want to have some notes in small denominations for tipping - which is common and customary - there are some places which do not take cash for safety reasons.
Once again Wise comes in clutch. Add it to your apple wallet, watch, take a physical card or all 3 to have back ups. Download the app and load it with Rand when it suits.

An oasis a couple of hours drive from Johannesburg. Relax, golf, safari.
Cascades is the original Sun City hotel. It's 1970's chic and central to everything. Out the door and cross the road and you're in the Welcome Centre (shops, restaurants etc) and through to the Wave Park.
