Horror
The one that started it all — genuinely terrifying and one of the best horror films ever made in my opinion. Based on a true story which makes it even scarier. Essential viewing for any horror fan.
The Conjuring (2013)
Just as scary as the first — the Enfield case is iconic and this film does it justice. I was on edge the entire time.
The Conjuring 2 (2016)
Takes the franchise in a slightly different direction but still delivers on the scares. A solid addition to the series.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
The latest in the franchise and still delivers that same unsettling atmosphere that makes the Conjuring films so good.
The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025)
The creepy doll origin story — if you've seen the Conjuring you'll know why Annabelle needed her own film. Genuinely unsettling from start to finish.
Annabelle (2014)
A classic horror film that genuinely disturbed me — the atmosphere and tension throughout is incredible. One of those films that stays with you.
The Ring (2002)
A brilliant start to the trilogy — fun, scary and full of 90s nostalgia. Gets better with each part so make sure you watch all three back to back.
Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (2021)
My favourite of the three — the summer camp setting is so atmospheric and the tension is relentless. Brilliant storytelling.
Fear Street Part 2: 1978 (2021)
The perfect conclusion to the trilogy — everything comes together brilliantly and the ending is so satisfying. Watch all three in one sitting if you can.
Fear Street Part 3: 1666 (2021)
A Korean horror sci-fi thriller that completely blew me away — the concept is so unique and the execution is flawless. One of the most gripping films I've seen. Highly recommend if you enjoy Korean cinema.
The Call (2020)
One of the scariest and most entertaining horror films of the last decade — Pennywise is an iconic villain and the coming of age story underneath the horror is genuinely brilliant. Terrifying but in the best possible way.
IT (2017)
A worthy conclusion to the story — darker and more complex than the first with some genuinely disturbing moments. Watch both back to back for the full experience.
IT: Chapter Two (2019)
One of the most atmospheric entries in the Conjuring universe — the setting of a Romanian monastery is absolutely perfect for horror. Genuinely creepy from start to finish.
The Nun (2018)
A solid sequel that expands the story of Valak further — more scares, more atmosphere and another great addition to the Conjuring universe.
The Nun II (2023)
A brilliantly tense psychological horror about strangers trapped in increasingly deadly escape rooms — the concept is so clever and the tension is relentless. Great watch if you love survival thrillers.
Escape Room (2019)
A Korean zombie thriller that is genuinely gripping — follows a man trapped alone in his apartment during a zombie apocalypse. Simple concept executed brilliantly and one of the most tense films I've watched.
#Alive (2020)
Thriller & Crime
An absolute masterpiece — won the Oscar for Best Picture and completely deserved it. A Korean film that starts as one thing and becomes something completely different and unexpected. Watch it without reading anything about it first.
Parasite (2019)
A gripping Korean psychological thriller on Netflix that keeps you guessing right until the end. The plot twists are genuinely shocking — do not look up spoilers before watching.

One of Leonardo DiCaprio's best performances — a deeply unsettling psychological thriller set in a psychiatric facility for the criminally insane. The ending will leave you questioning everything you just watched. Absolutely brilliant.
Shutter Island (2010)
Based on the true story of the Zodiac Killer — a gripping and meticulously detailed crime thriller that keeps you completely absorbed. David Fincher at his very best and one of the most compelling true crime films ever made.
Zodiac (2007)
A Netflix psychological thriller that grabs you from the very first scene and doesn't let go — the kind of film where you genuinely don't know what's real. Great watch if you love mind bending thrillers.
Fractured (2019)
A stunning and deeply unsettling psychological character study — Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely extraordinary in this role. One of the most compelling and thought provoking comic book films ever made, though it's nothing like a typical superhero film.

The epic conclusion to the whole saga — brings together characters from both the original and new trilogy which is so satisfying for long time fans. A brilliant send off.
Jurassic World: Dominion (2022)
One of the most visually stunning films ever made — even years later nothing quite matches the world of Pandora on a big screen. A groundbreaking cinematic experience.

Visually even more breathtaking than the first — the underwater world of Pandora is absolutely extraordinary. Worth watching on the biggest screen you can find.

Fantasy
Where it all began — I grew up with these films and they still feel magical every single time I rewatch them. A timeless classic.
Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone (2001)
The second instalment and just as enchanting — the world of Hogwarts gets bigger and darker and I love it. One of my favourites of the series.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Many fans consider this the best of the series and it's easy to see why — the tone shifts and the story deepens beautifully.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
The Triwizard Tournament is iconic — this is where the series really grows up and gets genuinely thrilling. Another one of my faves from the series.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Darker and more emotional than the earlier films — Dolores Umbridge is one of cinema's greatest villains.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
One of the most emotional films in the series — the ending never gets easier no matter how many times you've seen it. One of my favourites, if not THE most favourite of the series.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
The beginning of the end — a slower, more emotional film that sets up the finale perfectly. Underrated in the series in my opinion.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)
The perfect conclusion to one of cinema's greatest franchises — emotional, epic and everything a finale should be. Always makes me cry.
