I’m a matcha snob and with the rising prices of mediocre matcha lattes I decided to take matters into my own hands. Here are the supplies I recommend for your matcha journey!

what tools I recommend you get - at the beginning, you at least need a sifter and a whisk but you can level up from there! I love my matcha bowl especially with the spout
Nice starter kit if you just want to start off easy, the sifter and teaspoon are useful even if you want to start upgrading
Modern Matcha Starter Set
I love this bowl because my matcha doesn’t spill out while I whisk and the spout and clear material makes it easy to make sure I get every last drop into my cup!
Glass Matcha Bowl with Spout
I’ve been using a resin whisk because it doesn’t need to be bloomed like a bamboo whisk, is easier to clean, and is easier to directly whisk in milk and sweetener
Resin Matcha Whisk
If you want absolute exact measurements of all your ingredients, then a kitchen scale is the way to go!
Digital Kitchen Scale
Love a cute cup for your latte!
16oz Glass Cup with Bamboo Lid & Straw
I swear that fun ice makes my drink taste better!
Ice Trays for Freezer with Lid and Bin
Can honestly be any bamboo whisk but if you really want a nice microfoam then bamboo is way better than resin. Make sure to only use it in water and tea though, no sweeteners or milks should touch the bamboo!

matcha 🍃
I know it can feel intimidating to find the perfect matcha (especially with the shortage) but here are some of my solid recs!
Solid starter matcha and the price per gram is great! Shipping from the U.S. website is $6 and they restock during the week usually between 11am-12pm
Ikuyo Matcha (30g) - Medium & Snappy
Next step up from the Ippodo lineup. This is a smaller tin of the very popular Sayaka, I would recommend this if you want to taste it before committing to the larger tin
Horai Matcha (20g) - Rich & Smooth
If you loved Horai, this is the bigger tin! The pricing is a bit better so the price per gram is cheaper
Sayaka Matcha (40g) - Rich & Smooth
Kind of a more luxury matcha because the price per gram is higher but it is delicious and a beautiful green
Meiko Matcha (20g) – Full-bodied with Subtle Floral Aromas
A nice matcha that is often in stock!
First Harvest Matcha (30g) - Rich & Balanced
add-ins 🍯

Agave is the perfect neutral sweetener for matcha imo. I’ve been using this brand lately!
