I’ve Reviewed These
These are the adult coloring picks I have personally reviewed and recommended, so they get their own section instead of being mixed in with things I simply found for the list.
I reviewed this one and the nostalgia is the whole reason it belongs here. If you grew up in the '90s, half the fun is recognizing what you are coloring before you ever pick up a pencil.
Coloring the '90s (Nickelodeon)
I have reviewed and recommended this set. I like having two books together because sometimes you want pretty florals and sometimes you just want to flip until a page catches your attention.
Beautiful Adult Coloring Book Set - Floral
I have reviewed this mandala set too. Repetitive patterns are exactly the kind of coloring I reach for when I want my hands busy and my brain doing considerably less.
Beautiful Adult Coloring Book Set of 2 - Mandala
Very cool blending available with these cotton pages.
Grabie Watercolor Coloring Book, 15 A5 Sheets
Adult Coloring Books
A mix of cozy, botanical and easy-to-color books for grown-ups. I deliberately skipped Bobbie Goods here because that deserves its own list.
This is the cozy-cute end of adult coloring without wandering into a kids coloring book. Think little everyday hygge scenes for when intricate flowers with 4,000 petals sound like work.
Fuzzy Hygge Coloring Book - by Vivi Tinta (Paperback)
I like the spiral binding and one-sided perforated pages here almost as much as the forest illustrations. A coloring book that actually lies flat is a small luxury you appreciate immediately.
Color & Frame - In the Forest (Adult Coloring Book) - by New Seasons & Publications International Ltd (Spiral Bound)
Flowers, birds and butterflies make this an easy pick for someone who wants pretty pages rather than novelty themes. The one-sided pages also give markers a fighting chance.
Color & Frame - Country Gardens (Adult Coloring Book) - by New Seasons & Publications International Ltd (Spiral Bound)
Botanical coloring is one of those themes that works year-round and does not require me to understand a fandom first. This one is specifically designed as an adult relaxation book.
Hinkler Mindwaves Calming Coloring Botanical for Adults, 72 Pages
Large-print coloring is underrated. You still get flowers, mandalas, feathers and shells, but you are not squinting at microscopic spaces wondering when your relaxing hobby became an eye exam.
Color & Frame Large Print Easy Color & Frame - Calm (Stress Free Coloring Book), (Spiral-Bound)
This is where coloring can turn into learning a new little creative skill. The workbook includes stroke drills, letters and traceable words, so you have somewhere to start instead of staring at a blank page.
Hand Lettering Worksheets for Beginners, 40+ Page Brush Lettering Practice Workbook, Digital Download
Sometimes I do not need another entire book. A small set of printable floral pages is a nice low-commitment way to try different pencils, markers or color combinations.
Floral Adult Coloring Pages, Set of 4 Botanical Coloring Sheets, Coloring Printable for Adults and Teens, Coloring Relaxation Gift for Her
Not technically coloring but this is who I learned to hand letter from. Ive been following her for a long time online. Highly recommend.
Hand Lettering for Beginners: Simple Techniques. Endless Possibilities.
Print It and Color It
One of the best things about printable pages is choosing your own paper and printing a favorite again when you want to try a completely different palette. I added lettering practice here because coloring and hand lettering are very good neighbors.
Heavyweight mixed-media paper is a smart choice when you want to experiment beyond colored pencils. The spiral binding and perforated pages make it much less annoying to work on and remove a finished piece.
Ohuhu Mix Media Pad, 8.3"x8.3" Mixed Media Art Sketchbook, 120 lb/200 GSM Heavyweight Papers, 62 Sheets
A big printable collection makes sense if you like variety and want to choose your own paper. I especially like printables for marker users because you control what is underneath the ink.
Floral Coloring Book PDF, Adult Coloring Pages Printable, Botanical Coloring Pages For Adults, Stress Relief Floral Coloring Pages
This is a more curated botanical option with flowers and plants rather than a giant everything-and-the-kitchen-sink bundle. Print one page tonight and leave the other 27 for later.
Botanical coloring book to download PDF, 28 pages to print, adult coloring flowers and plants, instant download.
Blank mixed-media paper gives you permission to doodle, swatch and make a mess without ruining a coloring book page you were saving. The 9-by-12 size also gives you some breathing room.
60pg Blank XL Mix Media Sketchbook 9"x12" - Mondo Llama™: Spiral Binding, Cardstock, All Ages,
Blank Pages and Light Pads
For the days when you want to trace, doodle, practice lettering or make your own page instead of coloring somebody else’s design. These give you room to play without turning this into serious art class.
A light pad opens up tracing, lettering and transferring designs without the old tape-it-to-a-window trick. Adjustable brightness is especially useful when you switch between different paper weights.
Ultra-Thin A4 LED Light Board for Diamond Painting
These are the best if you are learning to draw or just like to relax tracing things.
Ultra-thin Light-up Tracing Pad Diamond Art Lightbox
Grab your favorite size of this book. I love the quality of the paper. Nice, thick and slightly textured.
Strathmore® 300 Series Wired Sketch Paper Pad
