The Display Shelf
These are the ones that make sense when the collecting is half the fun. Minis, buildable pieces and things that deserve their own little spot on a shelf.
Tiny retro stationery, tea sets, lunch boxes and treats inspired by Hello Kitty and Friends. They're made to be assembled and displayed, which is much more dangerous to my self-control than it should be.
MGA's Miniverse Make It Mini Sanrio Hello Kitty Series 4
This gives all those little Miniverse collectibles an actual Hello Kitty room to live in. You can change the wallpaper, flooring and accessories, so yes, apparently we're interior decorating miniature houses now.
MGA's Miniverse Make It Mini Spaces Hello Kitty, Building Set
Another series of miniature Sanrio surprises to make and display. This is exactly the sort of thing where you buy one and suddenly understand why people have an entire shelf.
MGA's Miniverse Make It Mini Hello Kitty and Friends Series 2
A buildable Hello Kitty cafe with Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin figures, tiny drinks, ice cream and an actual little dining area. This one is cute enough that I wouldn't hide it when company comes over.
Hello Kitty and Friends Hello Kitty’s Dream Cafe Building Set with Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin Minifigures
Hello Kitty and Friends reimagined as tiny pieces of sushi. Completely unnecessary. Completely adorable. No further questions. 😂
Brickcraft Hello Kitty Sushi Bar Building Set - 383-Piece Kit - 72214
A buildable Hello Kitty convertible that ends up looking more like a display piece than a toy. The included stickers let you customize it, which of course means choosing their placement suddenly becomes a major life decision.
Brickcraft Sanrio Hello Kitty Convertible Building Set - 294-Piece Kit - 72136
Hello Kitty tucked into bed with a tiny light-up laptop is very much aimed at the people who grew up with Sanrio. In other words: hello, target demographic.
Brickcraft Sanrio Hello Kitty Pixel Dreams Building Set - 355-Piece Kit - 72681
A tiny numbered mystery figure with a removable accessory, so of course one can turn into eight before you know what happened. The retro rainbow styling makes these especially cute for an adult display.
Hello Kitty 2" Retro Rainbow Blind Single Figures
A little buildable Hello Kitty racecar that lands somewhere between nostalgic toy and desk display. This is exactly the kind of silly-cute thing adulthood should allow us to buy ourselves.
Sanrio Hello Kitty Racecar Building Block Set
A retro boombox, a mixtape feature and Kuromi all in one buildable display piece. If your Sanrio taste has a slightly moodier side, this belongs on the shelf.
Brickcraft Hello Kitty and Friends Kuromi Boombox Building Kit (142-Piece Set), Retro Stereo with Mixtape Feature, Collectible Sanrio Display
These tiny Sanrio summer scenes are made to build and display, with different characters and attractions to collect. Small enough for a desk, dangerous enough to make you want the whole little park.
Hamee Sanrio Hello Kitty and Friends ‘Summer Wunderland Mini’ Theme Park Building Block Set Party Favor, Stress Relief, Collectible Toy – Kuromi Parfait Fountain
Tiny Hello Kitty and Friends figures with a display base, plus you don't know which character you're getting until you open it. And that, friends, is how a collection begins.
Hello Kitty Sanrio Minifigure Pack
Twenty numbered Hello Kitty and Friends figures in one box is not dipping a toe into collecting. This is skipping directly to having a collection, and I respect the efficiency.
Hello Kitty 24 Figure Set - 20pk
Hello Kitty in the Kitchen
Because apparently adulthood means we can buy the character mugs ourselves now. These lean collectible enough to display but still earn their cabinet space.
The classic white Hello Kitty face and red bow in a sculpted mug. If you're starting a collection, this feels like the obvious place to begin.
Bioworld Hello Kitty Sculpted Ceramic Mug, 16 oz, White Character Face with Red Bow, Hand-Painted Details, Officially Licensed Sanrio
This is Hello Kitty with a grown-up little upgrade: her classic face with gold detailing and a pink bow. Cute, but not kindergarten cute.
Silver Buffalo Sanrio Hello Kitty Golden Face Sculpted Ceramic Mug | Holds 20 Ounces
Hello Kitty holding a heart that says LOVE, because subtlety has never really been the point here. It's one of those mugs that doubles nicely as shelf decor when you're not drinking from it.
Silver Buffalo Sanrio Hello Kitty "Love" Sculpted Ceramic Mug | Holds 20 Ounces
Hello Kitty dressed as Frankenstein's monster in pink. I like this because it gives a collector something seasonal without losing the very specific Hello Kitty-ness of it all.
Silver Buffalo Sanrio Hello Kitty Frankenstein Pink Dress 20-Ounce Ceramic 3D Sculpted Mug
For the Grown-Up Fan
One thing you can actually use without pretending the attraction is purely practical. We both know why we're here.
An adult-size travel set with a neck pillow, eye mask and throw blanket. This is for the woman who has reached the stage of life where she's comfortable letting the airport know exactly who she is.
