best shoes for distance running
a pair of good running shoes is the best investment you can make as a runner!! i have tried out many different brands and models over the course of my running journey, and here are some of my favs :) every runner is different, so i recommend doing so...
everyday runs
the most versatile shoes for every type of run! if you're only gonna buy one pair of shoes, i'd pick one of these :)
my absolute fav shoe! good for all types of run :)
very similar to the asics gel-cumulus, a bit less cushion
very plush feeling, but took a toll on my ankles after a while
recovery runs
shoes with extra cushioning to keep your feet nice and comfy on easy recovery runs
shoes i have owned the longest! heavier than the cumulus but def more plush
super comfy for all day wear - i wear these everyday in clinic :)
basically a more plush version of brooks ghost
speed runs
light and responsive shoes to make you feel fast during workouts!
these shoes make me feel like i'm flying! nylon-plated so very responsive
trail runs
grippy and waterproof shoes to help you handle all types of weather and surfaces
super grippy bottom
another grippy bottom, a little heavier
races
carbon-plated shoes to maximize your speed and agility! (note: these shoes don't last as long as the others, so break them in then save them for race day)
very light and springy compared to my daily trainers
haven't tried these myself, but these are one of the most popular marathon racing shoes
