The dome is all glass and spiraling ramps. Sounds simple until you realize your phone camera fogs up, your bag keeps sliding off your shoulder, and you can't get a clean wide shot. These solved every single one of those problems.

Berlin weather is unpredictable and the dome amplifies it. Summer turns it into a greenhouse. Winter mornings fog the glass so thick you can barely see the Tiergarten. I've been in both extremes and here's what worked.

After an hour in the dome, you'll be hungry and surrounded by tourist traps. I ate at three overpriced places near Brandenburg Gate before I figured out where locals actually go. These are all under a fifteen minute walk.

Most people book the dome and then wing the rest of the day. I did that and wasted two hours wandering aimlessly. Planning these stops around the Reichstag visit made the whole day flow without backtracking.

I almost missed my visit because I didn't know you need to register weeks in advance. The booking system is free but confusing, and the confirmation email landed in my spam. Learn from my near-disaster.
