I used to grab whatever protein bar was on sale and choke it down like medicine. Finally found ones I genuinely look forward to at 3pm, which is saying something because I'm picky enough to annoy everyone at group dinners.

I went through a phase where I'd eat a handful of almonds and feel hungry again in twelve minutes. These are the mixes that actually hold me over, and none of them taste like bird food.

Milk chocolate at 3pm is a trap. You feel great for fifteen minutes and then you're face-down on your keyboard. These are the dark chocolates that satisfy the craving without the crash, tested by someone who used to eat M&Ms by the fistful.

Pure willpower doesn't work at 3pm when Karen brings donuts to the break room. Having something sweet already in my drawer is the only reason I don't cave. These taste like treats but don't leave me in a sugar coma.

Snacks without something to wash them down felt incomplete. Plus a few extras that round out the drawer, like the organizational stuff that keeps it from looking like a raccoon broke in.
