The whole point. I wanted shelves sturdy enough to hold frames but slim enough that they didn't make my hallway feel like a library. These are the ones I actually mounted and kept.

Not every frame works on a ledge. Some are too top-heavy and tip forward. I learned that the hard way after one crashed at 2 AM and scared my cat half to death.

My first ledge shelf ripped out of the wall at 3 AM because I skipped proper anchors. Drywall alone is not your friend. These keep everything locked in.

Empty shelves look sad. I had mine up for a week with nothing on them and my roommate asked if I was moving out. These filled the gaps fast.

A ledge with only frames looks flat. I started mixing in small objects and suddenly everything looked intentional instead of like a photo dump on a stick.

Before I mounted ledge shelves, I had to deal with the graveyard of nail holes from years of hanging frames the old way. These patched everything up.

I spent all this time arranging frames perfectly and then realized they disappeared after sunset. A little light made everything pop, even during the day.

I used to hold a shelf with one hand, a drill with the other, and a pencil in my mouth. These made the whole process something one person can handle alone.
