Fast-pace read that takes place in the early 1970s Harlem, bringing to light the hypocrisies of religion, familial love and acceptance, inequalities of criminal justice system. Love that it is not divided by chapters.

So, I unfortunately made the mistake of buying the last of a series without knowing… BUT it was worth the read nonetheless. These stories can be read in any order or as standalones, the character development in such few pages is impressive. Definitely can be a comfort read to go over again and again, I plan to read the rest of the "series".
