The low-effort reset for unruly curls and dry skin

Purple Star emoji 12 items
If your curls wake up choosing violence and your skin is permanently auditioning for “parched”, hello. This is my actual rotation. Not aspirational, not influencer-perfect, just the products that keep me looking vaguely polished with minimal effort a...

I live in Brisbane, Australia. The Queensland humidity is relentless. The water is hard. And I’m not interested in spending my life battling my own hair. So this routine is built around one principle: fix it at the source, then coast for the rest of ...

For frizzy, unruly curls

The goal is glossy, calm hair that looks intentional, without the daily negotiation. I’m not trying to become a hair person. I’m trying to look like one.

My hairdressers nagged me about getting a shower filter for years. I ignored them, obviously. Then I finally bought this one and the change was immediate, the kind of immediate that makes you slightly angry you waited.

From the first shower, my hair dried calmer. Softer. Less frizzy. Like it had stopped trying to rebel.

And my skin felt smoother too, I normally get irritation on my legs and it hasn’t been anywhere near as bad since installing it.

It also gives that “why do I feel so soft?” after-shower feeling, like the water has been…softened, for lack of a better word.

My boyfriend noticed the difference as well, which tells you it’s not just me romanticising my purchases.

And we now have the refill subscription, so you know it must be good!

If you live in Brisbane and your hair/skin feels chronically unsettled, this is the easiest upgrade that doesn’t require you to do anything new. It just changes the conditions. Which is the whole point.

I bought the entire range immediately. Not because I’m impulsive but because I’m efficient.

If I’m going to tame frizz, I’m doing it properly.

This set makes my hair feel smoother and look glossier in a way that’s immediate and slightly smug. The shampoo, conditioner and gloss smell ridiculously good and feel relaxing to use, like you’re doing something expensive, but you’re still technical...

The out-of-shower serum is basically hair perfume. My boyfriend complimented how good my hair smelled, which is rare enough to be considered evidence.

It also does a genuinely good job calming flyaways and making the ends look healthier all week.

If your hair is hard to tame and you want that “she has it together” finish without the labour, start here.

This is the kind of shampoo that makes your hair feel really clean. Like proper reset clean, without making it feel stripped or sad.

A little goes a long way, and it’s perfect if you double cleanse your hair (which I do when I want that bouncy, fresh base that makes everything else work better).

Also don’t underestimate the size. It earns its keep.

I love this one in the very specific way you love something that consistently makes your life easier.

I put it in, let it sit while I shave, then comb through with a wide-tooth comb, and I walk out of the shower feeling like my hair has been nourished on a cellular level.

Like it’s been eating well. Like it has hobbies.

I’m officially a Bouf-a-holic. I’ve accepted it.

For dry, irritated skin

This is where I stop my body from acting like it’s been offended by the concept of water. Dry, irritated skin doesn’t want complicated. It wants consistency, comfort, and products that don’t pick fights.

I’ve tried enough dry brushes to be judgemental about them. Some scratch. Some are so soft they’re decorative. Some shed bristles like they’re emotionally unstable. This one is the rare balanced one that's firm enough to feel effective, but not harsh...

The strap is genuinely comfortable, and the little engraved detail makes it feel intentional, like you dry brush because you have taste, not because you’re being influenced.

This is the body wash that made our shower feel like a reset instead of a rinse.

My boyfriend and I use it morning and night like it’s a rule.

Since using it, my skin feels more comfortable and my body feels more “well-rested”, especially when I’m in my Pilates princess era and everything is sore for no reason.

It’s become one of those products where, if it’s not in the shower, something feels off. Which is the highest compliment I can give body care.

For staying polished

This is where I lock it in. If I stop at towel-dry, my hair starts improvising, and my skin gets offended (tight, itchy, dramatic…) So I do a few small steps here to keep things controlled, softer skin, calmer curls, and that quietly put-together fin...

This is my twice-daily little secret.

Morning and night, I drop it along my hairline, the sparse bits, and yes, even my brows too!

I’m aiming for full, glossy “woke up like a model” hair…and I’m also a bride-to-be, which means I’m suddenly very interested in hair integrity and long-term decisions.

It looks like it should be greasy (it has strong chip shop energy, I know), but it somehow dissolves straight in. No oil slick, no residue, no drama.

And the crazy thing is it actually works. Not “maybe in six months if the planets align”…I noticed growth within a couple of weeks! Enough to make me keep using it religiously.

I’m also quietly trying to manifest Cara Delevingne brows, and this has been doing the most.

Even my boyfriend has started using it to help grow facial hair, and even he rates it, which is basically a peer-reviewed study in my household!

If I had to pick the product that makes my hair look like it has a personal assistant, it’s this.

I use it for three very specific moods:

1. Slick-back pony: A little through the lengths and suddenly it’s glossy, sleek, and very Ariana Grande!

2. Post-shower: Lightly on damp hair to lock in softness and stop frizz from getting ideas.

3. Overnight mask: I lather it through, add a bit of oil, sleep on it, wash it out the next day and my hair looks suspiciously healthy.

This is the product that made me say, out loud, “my hair has changed.” I may be slightly dramatic, but accurate!

I’ve been obsessed with Negin Mirsalehi for years, so yes, I was going to buy this eventually.

And yes, I keep repurchasing it, which is the only endorsement that matters.

It’s thick. Properly oily. Which is exactly why it’s heaven for dry ends.

You don’t need much, in fact, if you use too much, you’ll look like you’ve been through something, but the right amount gives that glossy, “expensive hair” finish.

I use it after a blowout for extra shine, and that polished look overnight with the Bouf leave-in when my hair is frizzy and needs hydration.

It lasts ages, which makes the price feel less offensive.

Small upgrades. Big mood.

Optional in theory. Essential in practice. These are the extras I don’t technically need but they just make me feel like a woman with standards. Small rituals that add polish, calm, and that subtle “don’t worry, I’ve got it handled” energy.

I used to think these were a scam. I was wrong. It’s fine. I’ve processed it.

I use it at the end of the shower, after conditioner, right before I get out. It’s the final step that makes me feel like I’ve reset my whole life.

Clean scalp, detangled hair, less “what is happening back there?” energy. This one suctions to the shower wall which is practical and annoyingly, makes it feel more official. I tried cheaper ones that were too soft to matter.

This one hits the sweet spot. It actually does something without feeling aggressive.

Dermaplaning is one of the quickest ways to look instantly more polished.

Your skin feels smoother, makeup sits better, and it removes that fluffy facial hair you only notice in cruel sunlight.

I also use these for my eyebrows because I hate waxing and I hate plucking. The smaller blade makes it surprisingly precise, so you can tidy up without pain, drama, or accidentally taking off half your brow (a canon event I’m trying to avoid).

Do I want a Dyson Airwrap? Obviously.
Do I want to pay for one? Not today.
These rollers are my budget version of glamour.

I put them in, throw on a robe, pour a red wine, and pretend I’m casually preparing for a fabulous life. It’s a ritual. And annoyingly, it works.

They give that lifted, bouncy, “I did something” look without requiring heat tools or an hour of effort.

For the price, it’s almost suspicious.
