Our favorite playgrounds/parks in our surrounding area of the Triad and Foothills

We love visiting different parks and playgrounds, and we're uniquely located to be able to reach quite a few in the Triad and Foothills area, so we change it up.

Great playground for the kids, right behind the Y, walking trail, pond, and a veterans memorial.

This is hands down the playground my kids ask to go to every time. They don't remember the others unless I remind them, but this is the one they ask about. It has so much stuff to do and is inclusive for kids of all abilities.

We've had several birthday parties here. There is a large playground with a lot to play on and do, and it's shaded!! And then there's a smaller playground if the larger one is too crowded. Is more for smaller kids but a nice backup. Also nice walking...

This one is a little further drive for us so we don't go as often but we try to go at least once a year. There's a carousel, a small train, a mini zoo, paddle boats, putt putt, a gem mine, a small splash pad, and a great playground.

There's a small entry fee to get in but there are multiple playgrounds, plus they have a swimming pool and splash pad for summer time. We mostly go for the playground though.

Absolutely our favorite splash pad. We make a couple visits every summer. Small entry fee and you need to register online for two hour time slots to make sure you get a spot but it's never too crowded because of it. Fenced in also.

We really enjoy this splash pad also, and it's free! Does get a little crowded at times but never been a big issue.

When we want a quick playground trip with friends, this is usually our go to park. It's not huge but has swings and a nice playset and it's not too far of a drive. There is also a picnic shelter and a smaller toddler playground.

This park has a great playground, is right by the recreation center, so access to a pool and basketball court and bathrooms. Also there is a fabulous wide graveled trail that goes along the creek/river. There's even a waterfall and signs along the wa...

The playground itself is really small, but the kids love the walking trail as part of it goes around the pond, and it's rarely busy, so they can stretch their legs.

This is another park that we enjoy. Decent sized playground with a nice walking track. Beautiful in the spring when the trees are in bloom..and I think they're expanding the park at some point but don't know all the details. We have family photos tak...

Has a great playground, a couple different levels of walking trails, and a beautiful pond that is so nice to walk around. Partially shaded and trails are paved.

I have family that lives not far so sometimes we meet here for the kids to play. There are several playground sets and a swing set, plus shelters to sit at for lunch.

You really need to do the tour if you haven't. It's not expensive at all, but you learn a lot about the history of it. I wouldn't visit just to walk around but for an educational trip and 45 minutes for the tour, absolutely.

We don't go here very often because we're not in this section of Winston often, but when we are, the walking trails here are beautiful and a great way to let the kids get some energy out. No playground, unless they've added one in the past couple yea...
