Restaurants
Best burgers on the beach. Don’t hesitate to come for breakfast too! Incredibly small but worth it.
Art's Place
Delicious, fresh seafood. Different chef’s features nightly with well-thought-out flavors. If you want a slightly upscale casual meal, treat yourself.
Blue Water Grill & Raw Bar
Get a lunch sandwich here. And take some fresh-caught seafood back to your house for later.
Austin Fish Company: Austin Seafood Company
One of the best east-coast slices I've ever had.
Slice Pizzeria
Tchotchke heaven. A little bit of everything, a lot of Italian food.
The Jolly Roger Restaurant
So, so good after a long beach day.
Southern Shores Pizza & Deli
Hilarious name, but also pretty tasty.
Booty Treats Ice Cream & Shave Ice
Get an Apple Ugly and thank me later.
Orange Blossom Bakery & Cafe
Beach Accesses
Has a ramp for your beach cart, foot showers in the parking lot, and a beautiful gazebo.
Check out this Youtube channel for a great review/video of almost every beach access on the outer banks!
The Real Outer Banks
Amazing beach. Big waves!
Salvo Day Use Area, Hatteras Island Sound Access
Museums
This is honestly one of the best museums I’ve ever been to. It’s so interactive and the artifacts are incredible. A must-see, and it’s free!
Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum
Such a great aquarium. Don’t forget to stop into the STAR center to see the turtles being rehabilitated. A very large gift shop and lovely outdoor facilities as well.
North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island
A tiny museum with a big story.
Pea Island Cookhouse Museum
You can see bears, foxes and more wildlife here.
Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge
Activities
Take a day trip to Ocracoke Island, using the free ferry departing from Hatteras.
Visit Ocracoke
Love walking along this pier. There's also a great gift shop and tiny museum area.
Jennette's Pier
Lots of little shops and things to see along this boardwalk - feels like the whole town is nestled right off it.
Duck Town Park Boardwalk
One of the most iconic landmarks on the East Coast.
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Check out the wild horses with a horse tour in Corolla. Don't get close to the wildlife!
