Pyramids of Chi, Ubud is genuinely one of my top wellness recommendations in Bali. ✨

The energy of this space feels deeply intentional, calming, and transformative from the moment you walk in. Some of my favorite experiences here were LSV (Light, Sound & Vibration), Scalar Frequency Healing, Ancient Sound Healing, Kundalini Activ...

Each experience feels deeply immersive, sensory, emotional, and hard to fully explain until you’re in it yourself. Between the frequencies, sound vibrations, meditative states, energy work, and self-reflection… it genuinely feels like stepping into a...

If you’re visiting Ubud and are even slightly curious about wellness, healing, consciousness, meditation, sound therapy, or frequency work… this is a must-do experience from me. 🌺

Radiantly Alive, Ubud became one of my favorite places to return to again and again while living in Bali. ✨

There’s something really special about the energy here — the mix of movement, spirituality, challenge, presence, and community. It’s not just a yoga studio… it genuinely feels like a space for transformation, expression, and reconnecting with yoursel...

Some of my favorite classes were Kundalini Meditation with Leon, Fly High Yoga with Ricardo, Flow & Meditation, and Kriya Yoga with Semtan. Every class felt different, but all of them left me feeling more powerful than when I walked in, grounded,...

It’s also perfectly located in Ubud Central next to Herb Library, where I’d usually go for breakfast after class, journal, or just slowly ease back into the day.

Chandra Cafe inside RA is also such a great spot for smoothies, working, reading, or reflecting after practice. 🌺

The Herb Library, Ubud became one of my favorite morning rituals.

Think nourishing breakfasts, herbal teas, beautiful design, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to put your phone away and just be.

I found myself returning again and again—not just for the food, but for how I felt while I was there. Calm. Grounded. Unhurried.

Their brunch special was an absolute steal for the quality and one of the most delicious meals I had in Ubud. I still think about it.

If your ideal Bali morning involves journaling, sipping something nourishing, and pretending you have absolutely nowhere to be, this place is for you. 🌿☕✨

One of my favorite discoveries was the Dragon Tea Temple tucked inside the property, where they host everything from Full Moon Ceremonies to live music and community gatherings.

If you're lucky, you might stumble upon something magical during your visit.

Come for the food. Stay because you accidentally lost track of time. 🌿✨

Bambu Fitness is one of the highlights of Uluwatu's fitness scene—and for good reason.

I joined a Saturday workout with nearly 175 people, and the energy was unreal. We started by running through the streets as a warm-up before moving into a high-intensity group workout that felt equal parts fitness class, community event, and adrenali...

There's something incredibly motivating about being surrounded by that many people pushing themselves, cheering each other on, and having fun while doing it.

✔️ High-energy group workouts
✔️ Strong community atmosphere
✔️ Great coaches and programming
✔️ One of Uluwatu's most popular fitness experience

🛏️ Stays I'd Book Again In A Heartbeat

The hotels, villas, and Airbnbs that made Bali feel like home. These are the stays I personally booked, lived in, and would happily return to again.

Chirangi Modi profile picture
The hotel that made me fall in love with Bali. Warm staff, beautiful rooms, incredible breakfasts, and bedtime stories left on my pillow every night. ✨

My first stay in Bali—and the hotel that set the bar incredibly high. Recommended by a trusted friend and booked through Agoda for the best pricing, Purana Suites ended up being one of the highlights of my entire Bali experience.

I originally booked a standard room and somehow landed the only room on the third floor beside the yoga shala, complete with a private terrace above and breathtaking jungle views.

The room felt spacious and peaceful, with one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever stayed in. There was a large stone soaking tub (which I somehow never used 😅), a cozy outdoor seating area, and plenty of space to unwind after a day exploring U...

What made this stay truly special were the thoughtful details. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with fresh fruit and a sandwich. Each evening, the staff left a small snack and a printed Balinese bedtime story on my bed. I absolutely loved this tradition ...

The breakfast alone almost convinced me to never leave. Most mornings included a yogurt fruit bowl, eggs or an omelette, sourdough toast, fresh juice, Bali coffee, and a generous plate of seasonal fruit. It quickly became my favorite daily ritual.

The yoga shala was another unexpected gem. I often used it for solo yoga sessions, stretching, or workouts when classes weren't in session.

The entire property felt calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Location-wise, it's ideal. You're about a 10–15 minute walk from central Ubud (near the Ubud Palace area), with trusted laundry services, money exchange shops, and Pepito Market all...

Every single person greeted me warmly, remembered my name, asked about my day, and genuinely wanted to help. That level of hospitality is rare and made the hotel feel like a home away from home.

And then there's the spa. I booked a three-hour spa experience that included a Balinese massage, head massage, and a flower-filled bath—all for around 800K IDR. The treatment felt incredibly luxurious and would have easily cost several times more els...

The only reason I left was because I realized I needed to explore more of Bali—and my budget couldn't justify staying forever. Every rupiah was worth it.

Perfect for: first-time Bali visitors, solo travelers, wellness lovers, digital nomads, couples, and anyone looking for a peaceful luxury stay in Ubud without the ultra-luxury price tag. 💛

Booked via Agoda for the best pricing.

I booked 5 days and stayed for 2 months. That should tell you everything. 💛

It became my home base in Bali and one of the easiest places I've ever lived. Located on Jalan Bisma, the location is hard to beat.

Everything was within walking distance—cafés, restaurants, laundry, money exchange, visa services, nail salons, yoga studios, rice fields, luxury resorts, convenience stores, and some of my favorite Indian restaurants in Ubud.

You get the convenience of central Ubud without feeling stuck in the busiest tourist crowds. The building itself felt fresh and new, with only six rooms total, making it quiet and peaceful most of the time.

There are two shared kitchens (one on each floor), daily housekeeping, fresh towels, bathroom cleaning, floor cleaning, and bed making. The team was incredibly accommodating and made extending my stay seamless. One unexpected perk was how easy it was...

Grab drivers knew exactly where Tropical Kasbah was, and rides usually arrived within minutes. Circle K sits directly across the street and is open 24 hours, with Grab drivers often nearby at all hours. I

f you're looking for an affordable, clean, comfortable long-term stay in Ubud with an unbeatable location, this is one I'd recommend without hesitation.

💰 Pricing: Easily one of the best value stays I found in Bali. The quality, cleanliness, location, and service felt far above the nightly rate.

Tucked away in a quieter part of Ubud, it offers a peaceful atmosphere that's perfect for travelers looking to slow down.

The loft-style layout is unique and aesthetically pleasing, though it may not be ideal for everyone. The sleeping area and TV are located upstairs, while most of the living space is downstairs.

Because the upstairs area is compact and the stairs don't have a railing, I found it easier to leave my luggage downstairs and only head up to sleep. The balcony off the loft was a lovely spot for morning coffee or quiet reflection.

The staff were warm, friendly, and always helpful. The property was well maintained throughout my stay, and despite nearby construction, I rarely felt disturbed. The pool is smaller than it appears in photos, but still provides a nice place to cool o...

Overall, I'd recommend Tarate Loft Studio for travelers seeking a peaceful, stylish retreat with beautiful design, a fantastic rooftop space, and a quieter side of Ubud.

💰 Value for Money: Excellent. A beautifully designed stay at a very reasonable price point, especially for travelers who prioritize peace, privacy, and aesthetics over being in the heart of Ubud. 💛

I didn't stay here... yet. But one afternoon was enough to make it one of the highlights of my entire Bali journey.

Bambu Indah is one of those rare places that feels less like a hotel and more like stepping into another world.

I visited on my final day in Bali using their wellness day pass and ended up spending the afternoon exploring the jungle grounds, swimming in natural spring-fed pools, relaxing by the river, and enjoying one of the most memorable meals of my entire t...

What makes Bambu Indah so special is its commitment to living in harmony with nature. Much of the food served on-site is grown directly on the property, and you can feel that connection everywhere—from the gardens and bamboo architecture to the river...

Bamboo structures, reclaimed teak houses, jungle pathways, natural pools, and open-air spaces make it feel worlds away from the typical luxury resort experience.

I spent hours wandering, reading, floating in the water, and simply taking it all in.

It was peaceful, grounding, and honestly one of the most magical places I discovered during five months in Bali.

Best For: Nature lovers, wellness seekers, creatives, slow travelers, couples, and anyone wanting a deeper connection to Bali.

💰 Worth It? Absolutely. Even if you don't stay overnight, book a day pass, have lunch, explore the grounds, and thank me later.

💛 What I remember most: Sitting by the river surrounded by jungle, realizing I had accidentally saved one of Bali's greatest hidden gems for my very last day.

I never stayed here, but I found myself stopping every time I passed. Located between the main road in Ubud Central and Jalan Bisma, Honeymoon Guesthouse feels like a beautiful reminder of old Bali.

Open-air pavilions, traditional woodwork, hand-carved details, yoga spaces, gardens, and quiet courtyards make it feel more like a living Balinese home than a hotel. I often stopped here for coffee, meals, or simply to enjoy the atmosphere.

There's something incredibly grounding about the space. It invites you to slow down.

Best For: Travelers wanting an authentic Balinese experience without sacrificing comfort and cost.

💛 What I remember most: Walking through the lotus-lined entrance and immediately feeling like I had stepped into the Bali I imagined before I ever arrived.

The place I miss most from Bali. 🌊

I stayed in a shared 4-bed dorm during low season and often had the room entirely to myself.

Days were spent rotating between the infrared sauna, hot sauna, volcanic steam dome, cold plunge, ocean-view pool, meditation spaces, and nourishing café.

One of my favorite memories was gathering around the oceanfront fire pit at sunset, watching the sky change colors while listening to the waves below.

The entire property felt exceptionally cared for. Common spaces were cleaned constantly throughout the day and always felt fresh, peaceful, and spotless.

The hyperbaric oxygen chamber was another highlight—I spent an hour a day breathing pure oxygen and felt incredible afterward.

Peaceful, restorative, and overlooking one of the most beautiful coastlines in Bali.

If your nervous system needs a reset, start here. 💙

Rainy season at Grün felt like living inside a nature documentary. 🌿

At night the lights shut down, the jungle became almost completely dark, and all you could hear were frogs, insects, and the sounds of nature around you.

The rooms were spacious, the balcony overlooking the yoga shala became one of my favorite morning spots, and breakfast was genuinely one of the best parts of every day.

Add in Pilates reformers, gym access, sauna, cold plunge, pools, and peaceful jungle surroundings and you'll understand why I never wanted to leave. grunresorts.com/grun-uluwatu

If I could only recommend one grocery store in Bali, it would be Bali Buda. Part organic market, part café, part wellness hub—this became one of my most trusted places during my time in Bali.

Depending on your visa type, agent, and location, your immigration appointment may be scheduled here instead of the Denpasar office.

Like the DPS office, this is typically used for biometric appointments, interviews, photos, and fingerprinting during the extension process.  Your visa agent will tell you which office to visit and when to appear.

The second visit to an immigration office was here and took closer to 2.5 hours, so it's worth arriving right when the office opens whenever possible.

It can get quite crowded and this location is not well established to host 100's of travelers.

For travelers needing proof of onward travel, services like OnwardTicket.com can help. I've included more details in a separate recommendation. ✈️

This was the first immigration office I visited during my time in Bali. 🛂

If you're extending your stay in Bali, this is one of the main immigration offices where travelers are often asked to attend an in-person appointment.

Many visa agents handle the paperwork for you, but you'll still need to appear in person for biometrics, photos, fingerprints, or an interview—especially during later extensions.

Bring your passport, arrive early, and follow the instructions provided by your visa agent.

One tip: not all immigration appointments move this quickly. My visit to the second main immigration office took closer to 2.5 hours, so it's worth arriving right when the office opens whenever possible.

For travelers needing proof of onward travel, services like OnwardTicket.com can help. I've included more details in a separate recommendation. ✈️

A simple travel hack that saved me during a visa extension appointment.

I didn't even know services like this existed until I needed one.

During my second Bali visa extension appointment, I waited nearly two hours before finally being called to the counter. Just when I thought the process was over, the immigration officer asked me to provide proof that I had a flight leaving Indonesia ...

Cue mild panic. 😅

I wasn't ready to book a flight yet, so I searched for a solution and discovered Onward Ticket. Within minutes, I purchased a temporary flight reservation, showed it to the officer, and my extension was approved.

✔️ Helpful for visa and immigration requirements

A boutique nail salon that made me wish appointments in the U.S. felt this thoughtful. I discovered Love Nails during a neighborhood walk while staying in Canggu, and it quickly became one of my favorite self-care experiences in Bali.

The space is intimate but beautifully designed, with a strong focus on cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail. I booked a luxury pedicure, complete with a flower-filled bronze foot basin, and was genuinely impressed by the level of care.

During my Valentine's Day visit, they gifted every guest a rose—a small gesture that made the experience feel extra special.

My go-to salon for Russian manicures in Bali. While Nokti may not be the most luxurious salon you'll find on the island, the service consistently kept me coming back. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful when it came to nail design ...

I primarily visited for Russian manicures, which are one of my favorite beauty treatments. The appointments typically lasted around two hours, but the experience never felt rushed. My nail artist was lovely to chat and laugh with, and every visit felt relaxed and enjoyable.

Guests are offered coffee, tea, water, and a surprisingly delicious cookie while they receive services—a small touch that made the experience feel welcoming and comfortable.

There are newer salons in Ubud, including a Korean nail salon on Jalan Bisma, but I continued returning to Nokti because the service was consistently excellent and the team genuinely cared about their clients.

Like most places in Bali, tipping isn't required, but I usually left around 50K IDR when I received exceptional service.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, alum stone (called Sphatika in Sanskrit) has been used traditionally for cleansing, purification, and balancing excess moisture.

While Ayurveda didn't historically use it as a modern deodorant spray, the mineral itself has a long history of use. 🌿

Traditional Ayurvedic Benefits of Sphatika (Alum)
1. Helps reduce excess sweating Considered drying and astringent (kashaya rasa). Traditionally used to help manage excessive moisture and dampness.
2. Supports odor control naturally Ayurveda associates strong body odor with excess heat (Pitta) and toxin accumulation (Ama).
Sphatika was traditionally used as a cleansing mineral to help reduce unwanted odors.
3. Cooling effect:
Can feel cooling and soothing on the skin. Particularly appreciated by individuals with excess Pitta (heat).
4. Astringent properties:
Helps temporarily tighten skin and pores. Traditionally used in after-shave applications and skin preparations.
5. Supports skin cleanliness:
Used historically in cleansing rituals due to its mineral and purifying properties.
6. Simple ingredient philosophy:
One mineral instead of a long ingredient list. ✨

What I personally love about crystal deodorants:
No overpowering fragrance

Doesn't clash with essential oils or perfume.

Lets the body perspire naturally Feels lighter than conventional antiperspirants.

Great for hot, humid climates like Bali :)

After years of carrying reusable water bottles, this is the one I reach for most often.

The FreeSip lid lets you sip through the built-in straw or drink normally from the spout, which sounds like a small detail until you use it daily. It's leakproof, easy to clean, fits in most cup holders, and keeps my water cold for hours.

I've tried a lot of facial mists over the years, and this is the one I keep coming back to.

It gives my skin an instant boost of hydration and glow without feeling greasy, heavy, or sticky.

What I love most is the spray itself—it delivers a true fine mist that disperses evenly across the face instead of leaving random droplets everywhere. It feels luxurious, refreshing, and makes reapplying throughout the day effortless.

I actually brought a bottle with me from the US while living in Bali and completely finished it. I was so relieved to discover it at Sociolla in Sanur's ICON Bali Mall that I immediately bought another.

I've tried a lot of travel bags over the years, and this is the one I keep reaching for. It has thoughtfully designed pockets for everything—laptop, journal, paperback book, chargers, water bottle, snacks, eye mask, and all the little things that som...

What surprised me most is how comfortable it is.
Even when fully packed, it doesn't feel heavy on my back, which makes a huge difference during airport days, train rides, and long travel adventures.

Functional, durable, and stylish enough to carry every day—it's become my go-to travel backpack. 🎒✨

If I'm wearing sunscreen (which I hope you are), makeup, or simply navigating humid climates like Bali, an oil cleanser is non-negotiable.

This one effortlessly melts away sunscreen, sweat, makeup, and the day's adventures without leaving my skin feeling stripped, tight, or angry afterward.

As someone with sensitive skin, I love how gentle it feels while still doing the heavy lifting.

The Centella helps keep my skin calm and balanced, even when travel, weather changes, and long flights would normally have my skin protesting.

My favorite routine is using this as the first step of a double cleanse, followed by the gentle Cetaphil Gentle Facial Cleanser.

Together, they leave my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and supported without disrupting my skin barrier.

After beach days, jungle walks, airport marathons, and everything in between, this duo has earned a permanent place in my travel bag.

One of those simple rituals that makes coming home at the end of the day feel like an act of self-care.

A travel-day essential I actually reach for.

Between Bali's heat, jungle humidity, long flights, wellness classes, and wandering around Ubud, having electrolyte packets in my bag felt like a tiny lifesaver.

Lemon Lime is hands-down my favorite flavor, but a little goes a long way.

I personally use half a packet in a 16 oz bottle of water, which gives me the perfect balance of hydration without feeling overly sweet or intense. Plus, it helps stretch the box much further.

Perfect for travel days, beach days, recovery days, and those moments when water alone just isn't cutting it.
