These are recipes that have become staples in my home. That doesn’t mean everyone eats them because my kids can go from loving something to hating it within 30 seconds. But they don’t break the bank, generally take under 30 minutes and provide a balanced meal. I am from an Irish - Iranian background, and spent a long part of my childhood in Sweden so you’ll find a real mix of recipes here. My everyday daytime and evening skincare routine. As well as my makeup routine (why I do if I’m feeling it)This is what I do most mornings and evenings, just what I’ve found works currently for my skin (at 36). Most are really affordable with one or two luxury items to complement them.In the mornings I usually wash my face with water followed by a rose toner (spray), hyaluronic acid and a vitamin C serum. It’s just enough to make my skin feel fresh and hydrated without loads of steps. I either finish with a tinted SPF (if I’m going to wear make up) so I’ve got a bit of coverage while still protecting my skin. If I’m not wearing make up I’ll put on a moisturisers with an spf. Makeup really depends on my mood. Some days I don’t bother at all, but if I do I keep it quick and easy. Putty blush, a bit of bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick and brows. Most of these are things I’ve used for ages or keep going back to because they’re simple and just work. Evening routine is a double cleanse with a cleansing balm and then a salicylic acid gel cleanser. Followed by glycolic acid toner. I then tend to alternate between using retinal (the most expensive item in my routine!) and niacinamide followed by a good moisturiser.

I’m quite picky with cheaper products because I hate that whole “buy cheap, buy twice” situation - if it doesn’t actually work, it’s not a bargain. Having lived in Cheltenham most my life I’ve developed a fair few favourite places to eat and drink.
