Ugh this book. Originally written for his wife, this cozy read was too sweet and fun to keep for herself. I immediately fell in love with the characters and couldn’t get enough. Worth a second, third and fourth read!

If you seen my other historical fiction rec you’d notice a trend. This follows two women & follows a very real spy network that existed during WWI. I felt everything, anger, hopelessness, sadness. Such a powerful novel.

This book has stuck with me for years. A family saga that follows some devastating stories of survival through the horrors of the slave trade, American civil war and more that will leave you devastated in such a necessary way.
