Every header I freehanded looked crooked and uneven. These stencils snapped that problem in half, and now people actually ask if I do hand lettering.

Stencils are useless if your pen bleeds under the edge and turns every letter into a smudgy blob. I ruined about six pages before finding pens that actually cooperate.

Stenciled letters still look off if your baseline is crooked. I learned that the hard way after creating a gorgeous header that slowly drifted uphill across the page.

Once my letters looked decent, the rest of the page felt bare. A little tape or color around the header ties everything together without needing any drawing ability.

My first journal had paper so thin that pressing a stencil against it left dents on three pages underneath. These notebooks can handle the pressure, literally.
