Whether you’re visiting or just stuck in a “where should we eat?” spiral, these are the local spots I keep going back to. From BBQ to brunch, these are my honest recs — no fluff, no fake reviews, just good food.

The pasta is to die for and the mozzarella sticks are always a win. And if you love crème brûlée — you have to get it. Chef’s kiss 👌
Taylor County Taphouse
Perfect for when you want something a little fancy but still chill. Their brunch is chef’s kiss — think crispy bacon, fluffy pancakes, and mimosas that actually taste good 😌 Great spot for date mornings or family weekends.
Copper Creek - Abilene
Everything on the menu slaps, but the wood-fired pizza is top tier. Don’t skip the wine — it’s part of the experience. Great spot for date night or just treating yourself after a long week.
Vagabond Pizza
This is a MUST. It’s 1000% worth the wait. The brisket melts in your mouth, and the sides? Don’t even get me started. Get there early and bring your appetite!
Jay’s BBQ Shack
Huge portions, lots of options, and super cute inside. Their chips + salsa are dangerous and the enchiladas always hit. You’ll leave full and probably take a to-go box.
Miguel's Mex Tex Cafe
Great spot for a laid-back dinner. The burgers are chef’s kiss and they’ve got fun toppings if you like to mix it up.
Twisted Root Burger Co.
Massive biscuits loaded with all kinds of goodness — fried chicken, eggs, gravy, bacon, you name it. The tots and cocktails don’t play either. Great weekend vibe.
