Small town- big flavor! The food scene is a hidden gem
Get there early- the line can be crazy! Hopefully they have the cornbread and chocolate cookie, but the ribs and sour cream potato salad are my go to

Brick oven pizza and beer brewed on the spot= a good time. The chocolate stout taste like a Reese cup to me

The Tiger burger is a signature and the limeade after a hike is exactly what you need to replenish your electrolytes.
Hi-D-Ho Drive In
Delicious burgers, onions and chicken tenders. You have to stand in line to order before sitting, but the line moves pretty quickly. The front area where the line is is small so don’t be alarmed if there is a line out of the door

Places to see
Sunsets and picnics are amazing. They have covered picnics tables if you can find one. Came in handy when it started pouring rain. Some nights they have star watching which I highly suggest.
White Sands National Park

Get abducted into the fun! The immersion space flight near the Lego store is a good time. Oh and the McDonald’s is literally a spaceship! Great photo ops

New Mexico is home of the missle range, so it would be fitting to visit the Space Museum while you are there. Very interesting collection and history
The Museum of Space History
From snowboarding to hiking, the forest is a good time. Plus it tends to be cooler in the mountains due to the altitude. Sight see and become one with nature
Lincoln National Forest
If you are brave enough to go towards sundown you can see the bats. Summertime is great because the caves are cold if you want relief from the heat.
