In the rural area it's hard to find something to do with the kids. Here is a list of some places we enjoy hitting up with the kids in central illinois and Indiana.

This is a great cheap outing to take the kids. It's small and alot of activities for kids of all ages.
Columbian Park Zoo
Great outing for when the weather is bad. Indoor black light putput golfing is fun for kids. There is also a small arcade for the kids.
Monster Mini Golf Lafayette
Great place to take the kids for the day. It's not expensive and it's spot of fun. Let them swim and enjoy the lakes.
Indiana Dunes National Park
Great place to take the kids for an outing. No matter the weather there is always something to do. You can hit the exploration station or go to park or have a picnic
Perry Farm Park
Kids had so much fun going here. There is so much to do and see
Sandy Oak Ranch
Kids love visiting the ranch around Christmas time. It's so much to see all they have.
HARDY's Reindeer Ranch
Kids had a blast here. There is parks, corn mazes, hay rides and more. It was alot of fun.
Curtis Orchard & Pumpkin Patch
This place has been a staple since I was a kid. It's so much fun for kids of all ages.
Indiana Beach
We love get air in Lafayette indiana. It is great for kids of all ages, they always have deals, and it wears the kids out fast.
Get Air Trampoline Park
Kids love the drive in. It's fun to set up a comfy pallet on the ground outside or lay down the seats in the van on the cooler nights.
Harvest Moon Drive-In Theatre
This is a must attend event for us. There is so much going on the whole time for the kids and adults. All grandstand events are free and so much fun to watch. We enjoy camping the whole weekend with family.
Earl Park Fall Festival | 53rd Annual Festival - 2025
This is a must attempt event every summer. We love the braclet night and the fact that you dont have to pay to enter. Take a stroll and support the FFA and grab dinner.
Newton County Pun'kin Vine Fair | Kentland IN
Kids enjoyed a day out and being in nature. There was a nice 1 mile walking trail we went on along with bluffs to watch for buffalo
