Hear discussion and answers for incredible questions
Neil is a household name nowadays. As an astrophysicist who is also a great public speaker, you can expect to learn and laugh at the same time. Such a fun listen.
StarTalk
A show so diverse that it's hard to describe what you're in for. Scroll through the episodes and pick a topic that sounds interesting and see for yourself the quality of what they're doing. Massively interesting how they investigate and tell stories.
Radiolab
A go-to resource for me when it comes to hearing from academics and scientists, especially in physics and philosophy. I love how they stitch together opposing viewpoints into single exploratory episodes. Great for getting a balanced understanding of ...
Closer To Truth
Andrew is so popular that he probably needs no introduction here. Listen to this podcast for his amazing insights on health and psychology. He also gets incredible guests.

Never stop thinking, never stop growing
I'm a huge Holiday fan. This podcast is a great way to absorb his insight if you're not into reading his books or newsletters. Highly recommend for a daily dose of philosophy.
The Daily Stoic
Also from Ryan Holiday. This one is for the fathers, as the name implies. It brings you practical, no-nonsense stories, ideas, and calls-to-action on how to be a better dad. It's something that needs more attention.
The Daily Dad
This won't be for everyone, but I encourage you to give it a try. Seth is amazingly funny and in tune with the world. He has some strong views, but I find his approach meaningful. Format is very radio-like, which is nostalgic for me.

Drill deeper than pop culture
I found Mike through JRE and promptly listened to every single episode featuring him. He has an impressive background and brings his CIA experience to a podcast which gives you incredibly concise, balanced updates on world news. Love this.
The President's Daily Brief
If you read the book, you know why this is a great show. If you don't know what this is, imagine people talking about economics but it's actually interesting and fun.
Freakonomics Radio
A bit niche since it's all about the Supreme Court, but I found it surprisingly interesting on what many of us consider a bland area. It's by the Radiolab folks.
More Perfect
Each season goes deep on a specific person, topic, or entity. I loved the content on Nixon and Clinton in particular. Fascinating stuff for a simple commute.

My recommendations which didn't fit anywhere else
Once upon a time, I was massively into fantasy football and this is the podcast I listened to DAILY, without fail. These guys are hysterical and well-informed on all things NFL. Big recommend.
Fantasy Football Podcast
I'll admit that I love The Office. Further, I love hearing behind-the-scenes stories of what went into each TV episode. Jenna and Angela do a wonderful job of showing us our favorite characters in a new light.
Office Ladies
The definitive podcast I put on if I don't feel like reading and need my kids to go to sleep. It's well-produced and has tons of original stories.
Koala Moon
Instant access to HUNDREDS of classic books in audio format. No purchasing. No waiting for a library copy. What's not to love? I've listened to several audiobooks through this podcast.
Classic Audiobook Collection
It's the original Sherlock Holmes adventures as a radio drama. Incredible voice acting and production value. Had a blast listening to these.
Sherlock Holmes Short Stories
Simply a fun show. I think Conan is hilarious and his podcast did not disappoint. Sure, they talk about many things with many people, but I'm here for his jokes.
Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend
Very, very unique topic, I know. I was casually looking into Japanese real estate a couple years ago and found these guys to be an incredible resource. Their podcast literally documents their journey in buying and renovating a house in Japan. Fun lis...
Buying a House in Japan
I used to be a big gamer and this show brought me so much joy. At best, it was like being the fifth person in a friend group. At worst, it was informative on the landscape of gaming. Part news, part fun. Note that it's Playstation-specific.
Beyond
Another great podcast for gamers and nerds, but with a more broad appeal. Daemon Hatfield is awesome.
