There are many reasons why you can't go to the gym, but there are fewer reasons why you can't work out at home. Exercise equipment gets more affordable and accessible by the year. Whether you're in an apartment, a living room, or a corner of the gara...

Strength Training
Push, pull, and lift heavy stuff.
Huge unlock. Think about the dumbbell rack at the gym. This adjustable one is the entire top rack from the gym. Unless you're already super strong, this will cover anything you need, from curls to presses.
Adjustable dumbbell
Similar benefits to the dumbbell in terms of giving you access to many plates/weights in one simple system. Good for most practical things you might do with a barbell (sans bench), like squats, good mornings, curls, etc.

You would not believe how many things you can do with these bands. Seriously, read the instructions or look online. You can replicate almost any machine or compound movement using these bands, and you can stack bands to increase the weight/resistance...
Resistance bands
The kettlebell is another staple for a good workout. It can be used in the space/area needed for your body to stand, turn, etc. and this adjustable model again means you can find the right weight for your current ability.
Adjustable kettlebell
Great for sitting or standing legwork in particular. Very compact with a few different resistance options. Hit those hips.

Cardio
Get the heart rate up and the sweat out.
Yes, it's a treadmill that's a bit pricey (even though it's on the lower end of cost, believe it or not), but this one can fold up for storage. I've had great success with this exact model.
NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill
“Speed” meaning the “rope” is a thin wire that's very easy to swing. Allows you to focus on your form without fatiguing your arms as quickly.
Speed (jump) rope
I love my weighted jump rope. It allows for instances where you don't necessarily want to do “distance” but rather get some burn going in your shoulders and arms while you jump.
Weighted (jump) rope
Bodyweight
Move and stretch with minimalist equipment.
A yoga mat is incredibly cross-functional. Use it for stretching, for certain weighted exercises (like lunges), for endurance exercises (like bridges), and so much more. Bonus points if it's extra cushiony like this one.
Yoga mat
An interesting piece of equipment that you can use for both active and passive exercises. Something as simple as sitting and shifting your hips around becomes a workout.
Yoga ball
Simply a great investment. If you've never used an ab wheel before, it will feel impossible at first, but I promise that sticking with it will improve your core strength. It's a small piece of equipment that you can use pretty much anywhere.
Ab wheel
More for stretching and recovery, though I suppose a foam roller can also be used for floor-based exercises. I like this huge one due to how many ways you can use it. Helps me hit the IT band in particular.
Foam roller
Hydration & Sound
Make sure you're able to focus and complete the workout.
Any water bottle will do, but this one is awesome for working out because you can sip or chug. That simple option is so cool. After heavy cardio, I don't want to sip. After ongoing lifts, I don't want to chug. One bottle caters to either need.
Owala water bottle
Perfect for water, with or without protein. I like the BlenderBottle because the cap seals so tightly that I don't need to worry if it falls over, gets dropped, etc. Water stays inside until you're ready for it.
Shaker bottle
This cooling towel is just awesome. Feels so great. Unlike a regular towel, this one holds the moisture for longer and applies the chill to your head, neck, or wherever you wear it. I love this one for running, jumping rope, or even doing yardwork.
Cooling towel
Not required, but I love having music going when I work out. This “pill” speaker is much better than the speakers on my phone. You can move it with you in your workout circuit.
Wireless speaker
Keep cool with a basic fan. This one is battery powered, so no need to work out near an outlet.
