Restaurants & Breweries
Pets are welcome outside only, but there's tons of space out there.
Back Forty Beer Company Birmingham
We LOVE this place for an after-hike lunch. Everyone here is really cool and they have a great porch out back so you can sit with the puppers.
Creekside BBQ
Nice side patio that allows dogs and they also have pup cups and treats!
Big Spoon Creamery
Big patio out back that’s very dog friendly!
Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint
Great patio and super dog friendly, with bowls and water for your pup.
Rojo
Great inside and outside dog friendly place with plenty of room for puppers. They usually have a food truck around and also do serve cocktails inside if you're not a beer lover.
Cahaba Brewery
I love the big patio here in beautiful Highland Park, right across from Bottega. Huge trees everywhere, and lots of room for dogs. Great food, too! Perfect for a fun happy hour or small dinner.
Freddy's
Daycare, Parks & Trails
This place is the best and the people are AMAZING! Our favorite doggie daycare. The outside is so nice and they take great care of your pups.
Birmingham, Alabama - Good Dog Park & Bar
Lotta swimming opportunities for the pups here. Wide, newly repaved trails and it's mostly shady, which is great for hot days.
Jemison Park
Man, I love this trail. It's wide with lanes so bikes are allowed, and your dogs will have plenty of room. They've added a whole new section so you can get a lot of flat mileage here.
Lakeshore Trail (Homewood Shades Creek Greenway), Alabama
With the exception of some of the harder quarry trails, Ruffner has so many great trails that are dog friendly. Be sure to bring water, though. You won’t find much at all here.
Ruffner Mountain
Our favorite dog hiking trails here. Water available on most trails, and a number of great swimming holes for them.
Oak Mountain State Park
Great trails, but no water. Pack water and sunscreen (a lot of the flat road trails are fairly exposed) and you’re good to go. If you go to the back entrance of the park, you can pretty easily let your dogs go leash-free because it's remote. You can ...
Red Mountain Park
The best park to go in Highland Park if you want to play with other dogs. Everyone is pretty laid back, and there's a water cooler/bowl and toys.
