Lisbon is one of my favorite cities in the world. The tile of the sidewalks and buildings is beautiful. So many great viewpoints and streets to explore. Great food and drink - definitely try pastel de nata and ginja. You can read more on my blog: travelingnature.com/ultimate-guide-for-solo-travel-in-lisbon

Cool castle and amazing views of the city
Castelo de São Jorge
My favorite view of the city. Musicians rotate to provide good music to hang out.
Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara
One of my favorite things about Lisbon is all the beautiful tile. The museum shows the history and importance of azulejos.
National Tile Museum
Cool ruins of a Roman Theater set into the hillside of Lisbon
Museu de Lisboa - Teatro Romano
Great art museum with lovely garden. Plan to have lunch on the patio.
Calouste Gulbenkian Museum
Beautiful cathedral
Lisbon Cathedral
This church doesn't look impressive from the outside. But trust me, go inside, the altars are amazing.
Church of Saint Roch
This is my favorite place to walk in Lisbon. Hang out in a kiosk with a snack and drink and listen to local musicians.
Avenida da Liberdade - O que saber antes de ir (ATUALIZADO 2025)
Really cool tile design across the square. Great holiday market during November and December.
Rossio Square in Lisbon - Praça Dom Pedro IV
Beautiful interior with multicolored marble. Each level you climb brings a different view. Wonderful views of the city from the roof.
National Pantheon
Quiet place with cool trees in Principle Real neighborhood.
Botanical Garden of Lisbon
Just about anything you could want to buy. There is a great pottery store on Campo de Santa Clara.
Feira da Ladra (Flea Market)
Pay the extra fees to see the Nativity Scene and to go up to the roof.
Basilica of Estrela
Restaurants, shops, music - a fun place to hang out. On the west side of Lisbon, you can walk, take the train, or grab a Bolt ride.
LX Factory
You can't be in Lisbon without riding the tram. My favorite is the Gloria Funicular that takes you up to the Miradouro San Pedro de Alcantara.
Lisbon tram guide - updated for 2025
I did an incredible tour through The Tour Guy in Lisbon - a guided walk through the neighborhoods, a boat ride to Belem, and a helicopter ride over the Tagus River with views over the city.
The Best Lisbon Tours & Things to Do
I enjoyed a fun, small-group van tour to Arrabida and Sesimbra, south of Lisbon. We did wine tasting and had lunch next to the water as well as a visit to a castle ruins and viewpoint over the national park.
