I enjoyed a four-day trip to Berlin. There is great food, fun bars, and lots to do during the day. Stay near Museum Island to be close to activities and near easy-to-use public transportation.

A quick train and bus ride from central Berlin. The palace had been badly damaged in WW2, but has been almost completely restored. Some gorgeous rooms and a lovely garden.
Charlottenburg Palace
Paintings and sculptures from the middle ages in a beautiful museum. One of the best spots to have tea and torte in the cafe.
Bode-Museum
Friendly staff, cool snugs, good food and music. Try the Midnight - Guinness with port wine.
Kilkenny Irish Pub
If you like ancient Greek and Rome as much as I do, you will love this place. Nice park and fountain in front of the museum.
Altes Museum
Beautiful cathedral with open interior. Great view of the city from the dome and the stairs up are wider than most ascents in churches.
Berlin Cathedral
Great collection of ancient Egyptian and other ancient civilizations with cool architecture inside. You will need to check any bags or put them in a locker.
Neues Museum
Great collection of paintings and sculptures. Many interesting paintings by Adolph Menzel. The second floor with the Impressionists was closed when I was there which was quite disappointing.
Alte Nationalgalerie
Fun bachata lesson and social dancing. They only took cash and I didn't bring enough to get a drink but the dancing was fun. Lots of friendly people.
Soda Club Berlin
I stayed near Museum Island which was a great location to go to museums and get around the city. The public transportation in Berlin is extensive and easy to use.
Museum Island Berlin
Close to Museum Island, in the center of town - great location. Lots of restaurants and public transportation nearby. Great rooftop bar.
Hotel ZOE by AMANO | hotel Berlin-Mitte | Hackescher Markt
I went there for cocktails and for dinner and enjoyed both.
Barist Restaurant & Gelateria
On a beautiful evening, the riverfront was filled with people hanging out, eating and drinking and listening to street musicians.

Impressive government building. You can book a tour online.
Reichstag Building
The garden was blocked off due to a festival when I was there but it looked like a great place to explore. Next time.
