After hours of research, this is what I decided I needed to get started with needlepoint. I plan to paint my own canvas, but I haven’t decided on the design yet, so thread will come later!
Start with 13-14 mesh because it’s a little easier and goes by faster

These are more optional but I thought I would prefer working with stretched bars

I bought a big piece of canvas that I’ll be cutting so I got this for the edges
Artist Tape
For painting the canvas
Extra Fine Point Paint Pens
Use a size 20 needle if you’re doing 13-14 mesh

If you get a stretcher bar kit it will likely come with these but I bought stand-alone bars
