Okay, it’s touristy, but you have to see it at least once. It’s actually pretty cool in person, and the views around it are gorgeous. I recommend going early or later in the day to skip the biggest crowds.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
This place is unreal—like another planet. You can just drive through and still get amazing views, but if you have time, get out and walk one of the trails. Sunrise or sunset? Insane.
Badlands National Park
This place is straight out of a postcard. Great for a relaxing walk or paddleboarding if you’re into that. The Lodge is beautiful and a great place for a reception!
Sylvan Lake Lodge | Custer State Park Resort
One of my favorite scenic drives, especially in the fall when all the leaves are changing. You’ll want to stop every 5 minutes to take pictures. Breathtaking views!
Spearfish Canyon in Spearfish, SD
