Lately I've been rebuilding my skincare routine -
Being 40 has shifted how I think about skincare. I'm not trying to overhaul everything overnight or chase trends. I'm focusing on consistency, barrier care, and habits that support my skin longeterm. For awhile, my routine was pretty minimal - it worked until it didn't. Winter dryness, dull morning, and that under-the-skin texture were my sign to slow down and be a little more intentional. So I've been introducing products - vitamin C in the morning for brightness, retinol at night for texture, and lots of hydration. What I've also realized is that skincare isn't just about products I'm using but it's also habits - drinking water before coffee and throughout the day, going to bed earlier, washing my brushes regularly, protecting my skin instead of overworking it. All of those habits matter just as much as what I'm putting on my skin. I'm figuring it out as I go - but this routine already feels supportive, doable and aligned with where I am right now. Sharing in case it helps someone else who's also easing into a more intentional glow-up.
