Purple Star emoji 17 items
Disposable products can be useful and convenient, but regularly having them on our shopping list was really straining our monthly budget. Over the years, we've made a conscious effort to reduce how many disposables we buy, and I'm proud to say we've ...

Low-Waste Kitchen

A few of our favorite kitchen swaps that have stood the test of time. We buy as much as we can in bulk to save money in the long run, and investing in reusable storage has made it easier to keep our pantry staples organized and accessible. By cutting...

These bags are so sturdy! Way cheaper than stash bags and my kids love the patterns. I can write on them when I send them in school lunches and it comes right off in the wash. We do have to hand wash them, but they are so easy to clean. My hubby put ...

Easy to clean! We take ours apart and throw them right in the dishwasher with the silverware then air dry on a rack after. We've had them forever, they are a great product that lasts.

They're so useful — baby food, yogurt, pasta sauce, you name it. They freeze well, you can write on them (and it washes off easily), and they’re dishwasher-safe, though I prefer to hand wash them. If you're sending them to school or daycare, make sur...

These are the only kitchen towels you will need. My Grandma swears by them, and she is rarely wrong about kitchen essentials. They dry the dishes, cover rising dough, work as a cheese cloth, clean up messes, anything and everything you can think of. ...

I have this french press on another list too. It's perfect for a small kitchen. No need for filters, and it makes a really good cup of coffee.

Little Bit of Laundry

The only thing thrown away it the laundry room in lint, and even that sometimes gets recycled into fire starters for future camping trips. We keep our laundry as simple as possible and try not to buy extra products we just don't need.

My first eco-friendly swap was investing in wool dryer balls. They are cheaper in the long run, better for our clothes and are a much better option for those of us with sensitive skin.

This one isn't necessarily reusable but it's an honorable mention. Add a few drops to your wool dryer balls and the room will smell heavenly. It takes a long time to go through this bottle.

Baby Budget

When did diapers get so expensive! Every year the prices go up and the quality goes down. Investing in these products right away can feel like a huge expense but in the long run it is so worth it. We save at least $120 a month by switching to cloth. ...

My FAVORITE diapers. Hands down. We tried a few brands that friends recommended but in the end Lil'Helpers were the clear winner. The system is so simple and they worked well at daycare. I invested in 10 diapers and after 2 years of constant washing ...

I wish I had invested in these sooner. If you are already cloth diapering then these are a no brainer. We still buy disposables wipes for travel but now we can make a box of Costco wipes last most of the year.

These are awesome diaper liners for over nights and long car rides. I actually only use half of this set for diapers though. The other half I used as period pads while my baby was little. I'm actually really glad I tried this first, it made purchasin...

Just get a cup. Any cup. This one is my favorite and now I have 2. Once you figure it out, you'll think you were crazy for spending so much money on tampons.

It took me a bit to finally give this a try, but I’m glad I did. A friend from work recommended trying a menstrual disc, and I started with an affordable one just to see how it went—it’s been a great addition to my lineup of reusable products.
