Eats and drinks
Amazing craft cocktails, elevated pub food, and super friendly staff with a uniquely Yukon atmosphere. Ask the bartender for the story of Yukon Polly if they aren't too busy!!
Sheep Camp (@sheepcampyukon)
The service can be a little slow but that's the Yukon way. Their mixologist is a maestro though and their head chef brought such an authentic taste of Costa Rica to this remote corner that I have to give credit where it's due.
Gather Cafe & Taphouse
Cocktail bar and craft brewery in a historical log cabin. Has been expanded, but still feels authentic inside. They do amazing Christmas cocktails during the winter holidays.
Woodcutter's Blanket - Bar & Brewery
Best brewery in town, in my opinion. They make the best sours, but also have great IPAs, lagers, and stouts, to name a few! Their merch is also super cute and the staff are so friendly.
Winterlong Brewing Co.
One of the nicest hotels in town, relatively new build, bright interior. Right down town, just across the street from the lumel glass blowing studio!
Raven Inn
Such a cute cafe and coffee roasters! They have a covered patio/sun room, and an open air patio as well as indoor space. The staff were so friendly and the coffee is so fresh and delicious! Grab a bag to bring home!
Bean North Coffee Roasting Co Ltd
My favourite coffee roaster in town! Their bushwackers coffee is bold and delicious, and is the coffee served on-board Air North's flights :)
Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters
Awesome live music dive bar that keeps the local music scene, which is awesome by the way, alive and well.the bartenders and other staff are so cool and friendly, and you can tell they want to keep people safe. As a woman, IYKYK.
Lefty's Well
Really nice brewery. And also a distillery! Their scotch-style whiskey called two brewers is super good!! And their gin is crisp and clean tasting, great with tonic.
Yukon Brewing
An intresting restaurant hidden away in a store. Their food is super yummy.
Yukon Provisions
Make sure you fly in with Air North! Their staff are so friendly and amazing. You get 2 checked bags, a small meal and a warm cookie ALL INCLUDED in your fare! And if you're connecting to their flight from another carrier, you might be eligible for a...
Air North
Things to do (in town)
A must do; book a glass blowing class while you are in Whitehorse. The owners, who the place is named after (Lu+Mel), are such and down to earth people who love to honour the Yukon. If you don't have time to pick your piece up before you leave, they ...
Lumel Studios
So highly recommend taking this historic train ride to Skagway Alaska! You get picked up in downtown Whitehorse, then bus out to Fraser BC to board the historically restored train cars. You get to step out and enjoy the view, and trust me it is beaut...
White Pass & Yukon Route
Such a cool museum right in the heart of downtown. The lower level lobby ceiling is covered in beautiful hand-blown glass icicles of all different colours, made by lumel studio. On the upper levels you will find a wildlife taxidermy room, first natio...
MacBride Museum of Yukon History
A cool place to check out and a great photo op with the mammoths 🦣.
Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre
Home to the world's largest wind vein! The airplane on the pole will turn with the wind. Check out the interesting history of transportation into and around Yukon territory.
Yukon Transportation Museum
Places to go (out of town)
Free to hike through, just a big figure 8 but only takes 1.5 hours, even if you aren't a fast walker. You can also rent a bike during the summer or kicksled in the winter. It is also possible to pay for a guided tour of the preserve. They take in reh...
Yukon Wildlife Preserve
A perfect stop after the wild life preserve! Unwind and relax in the natural hotsprings, where they have 3 (+1 extra in the summer) Nordic style hotprings, and in the summer multiple cold plunges. With steam rooms and dry saunas, you can get the full...
Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs
If you're up in the winter I highly recommend going dog sledding! Also please do not say anything about animal welfare. These animals love their jobs and are so well taken care of. The first nation's in Yukon still highly rely on sled dogs as a way o...
Home of dogsledding, puppies, and family fun in Carcross Yukon
If you're visiting during the summer and have the time/money for it, I highly recommend taking a float plane flight from shwatka lake to Bennett lake! These guys will take you over the glaciers in the kluane range and you might even be able to see th...
