NYS has some of the most beautiful state Parks in the country. Here are just some that I highly recommend checking out!
Map
They don't call this the Grand Canyon of the East for nothing. Stunning views here!
Letchworth State Park
This isn't a state park like the others but deserves to be recognized for the beauty all over the Adirondacks. Don't miss the High Peaks region!
Adirondack Park
Part of this park is paid, there is another half that is free (although you can walk into the park if you want). Beautiful nature, pools, and don't forget to check out the springs!
Saratoga Spa State Park
Nice beach at the lake, great for fishing, boating, gorgeous hikes around the lake.
Grafton Lakes State Park
This is a great Park with some nice camping. The lakefront beach with even a water slide and diving board are a hit!
Chenango Valley State Park - Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation
A great look at the American Falls.
Niagara Falls State Park
Iconic beach with boardwalk on Long Island
Jones Beach State Park
Amazing views off the escarpment of Albany, with lots of nice hiking and fun.
Thacher State Park
Another of the iconic Long Island beaches.
Robert Moses State Park - Long Island
An underrated state Park in the north of the state. Check out the Eisenhower Lock on the St. Lawrence river here - it's fascinating!
Robert Moses State Park - Thousand Islands
I have yet to visit here myself, but I have heard a lot about how beautiful it is here!
