Lunch & Dinner
When you think of your favorite restaurants, the first ones that come to mind probably serve lunch and dinner. Here are mine!
My favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, period! Everything here is amazing, but the Hummus Duck 'Nduja, Malawach, and Slow Roasted Lamb Neck Shawarma are MUSTS.
Bavel
This steakhouse has prix fixe menus for as little as $60 per person, with at least four courses each and premium, New Zealand Wagyu steak. If you're around the bar or at lunch, you have to try their Philly Cheesesteak!
Matu
The best restaurant on the Westside, hands down. The skillet cornbread is a must and everything from the drinks to the veggies to the entrees is seasonally curated and expertly executed.
Hatchet Hall
My favorite pizza place in all of LA! It’s small though so make reservations or be prepared to wait. And get the potato pizza!
Pizzeria Sei
Best hot chicken I’ve ever had in my life! Can’t go wrong with the sandwich or tenders, but don’t forget to get extra comeback sauce.
Howlin' Ray's Hot Chicken - Chinatown
Fresh handmade flour tortillas, combinations, margaritas by the pitcher, and festive seasonal decor. Paco’s has been here forever and for a reason! This place has it all.
Paco's Tacos
I love sushi but nothing beats a handroll! The warm rice with cold fish and crispy seaweed makes for a bite with the perfect balance of everything. Plus, the set menus are a fun way to try a little bit of everything!
KazuNori: The Original Hand Roll Bar
Some of the best barbecue I’ve had in LA but definitely one of the best burgers! Don’t sleep on Moo’s (and get here early because they do sell out).
Moo's Craft Barbecue
Everything here is delicious but if you’re coming expecting your run-of-the-mill Pad Thai, this is nothing like that. It’s next level Thai food, from Larb to Chicken Wings that will blow you away.
Night + Market Sahm
The Melrose on Dutch crunch bread is perfection and my favorite sandwich in the city. No notes.
Ghost Sando Shop
Breakfast
It’s the most important meal of the day, which makes this the most important section to read up on.
My favorite pancakes in the city, specifically the OG with cinnamon butter and Pink Lady Apple. Their oatmeal griddle cakes are unlike any I've ever had before. You don't even need syrup!
Breakfast by Salt's Cure
My favorite breakfast burrito in LA and well worth the drive out to Malibu. I always get the Bacon Breakfast Burrito and add potatoes.
Lily's Malibu
I’m a fiend for cinnamon rolls and these are my favorite! They have gluten-free and vegan options, as well as plenty of fun toppings and variations.
All About The Cinnamon
Doughnuts made fresh every hour! Everything here is delicious but my personal favorite is the Huckleberry.
Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee
Breakfast tacos, queso, and margs…what else could you need?! You HAVE to try the queso and my favorite tacos are the Trinity and Tijuana Panther.
HomeState
Bagels are very trendy right now but ditch the long lines and get an actually good, fresh bagel from Daniel’s. Their cream cheese is awesome and their Rosemary bagel converted me to a savory bagel lover.
Daniel's Bagels
Dessert
Need a little treat? Here are my top favorite spots to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Their Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is my favorite flavor of ice cream maybe in existence.
Salt & Straw
My absolute favorite cookies I’ve ever had, from the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip to Cookie au Beurre to Cookies & Cream Dream!
Fleurs et Sel
Here’s something you didn’t know you needed: Brown Butter Sea Salt Rice Krispies Treats. They’re the best I’ve ever had and worth the trip! Or try their Fudgiest Brownie a la mode with Sweet Cute ice cream.
The Very Best Cookie In The Whole Wide World
My absolute favorite shave ice from Hawaii after trying in the double-digit amount of places now has a location in LA! You can’t go wrong with any fruity flavors and always add mochi or ice cream.
