Manhattan - Upper East Side
A lot of museums are in the upper east side of Manhattan but check out these for a less crowded atmosphere ~
Really beautiful and aesthetic museum that's intimate and picturesque. Also perfect for a date spot in the city. It's also Pay-as-you-wish on Wednesdays from (2–6 PM).
The Frick Collection
Great spot if your a history nerd and you like immersive films LOL. This was also NY's first museum. It is also pay-as-you-wish Fridays from (6–8 PM)
The New York Historical
If you're into embroidery or crocheting check out their quilt and textile exhibition which is open until March 1st 2026. Really cool spot to get some inspiration for creativity and it's always free!
American Folk Art Museum
Manhattan - Lower Manhattan
Away from the hub of Museum Mile in the Upper East Side, normally less crowded options for viewing!
Really small space, probably not the best for large groups but really unique pieces - and it's always free!
Print Center New York
I went here when I first started getting into photography as a hobby, best spot to see other creatives thrive behind their lens! (Pay-as-you-wish Thursdays. (6–9 PM)
International Center of Photography Museum
Really lowkey spot, it's never crowded whenever I go, its perfect for solo dates and it's free on Friday's!
